Anyone know of a site that has downloads of small free PC games? I know there were a few around but have forgotten them. They had large collections of games with a small size and were easy to download. Some even had old classic PC games for free. Any links would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks guys. Loony, are the games on that site downloadable? Because it doesn't seem that way, and I would be surprised if some of them are as some are still relatively new.

Well I registered and don't see a download button. I'm assuming they are busy rebuilding it then as all the games were added recently. Great site though if their downloads go back up. Thanks.

If you need a good and small game.
    Google for: World of Goo
The Demo is very good, and only a 32MB download!

Kong - Although the multiplayer doesn't work for me (I think it's just my internet here), this top down shooter starring, you guessed it, monkeys has some very fun and well balanced gameplay and each level is filled with weapons and power-ups for some primate killing mayhem. Think UT2004 but way smaller and instead of big ass, roid raging humans running around blowing each other up, you got monkeys running around doing that! (Summary written by me)

    Gameplay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuyRCTMmXPk&feature=related

Baboviolent 2 - Think Kong but instead of monkeys, you are a customizable marble rolling around blowing other marbles up. Marbles filled with blood though (play the game you will find out!). I highly recommend this tinny yet highly addictive game. The multiplayer is fantastic and the weapons are well balanced and plentiful and each weapon has its own strategy to go with with it. The levels are a little bland but trust me, you must try it when I want a quick fix of blowing the piss out of people and I don't have enough time to get UT2004 or Red Orchestra or something like that going, Baboviolent 2 is there to help me out! (Summary written by me)

Little Fighter 2 - When you mix a tiny version of street fighter mixed into Double Dragon and throw in some Dragon Ball Z while your at it and you get Little Fighter 2. This game has multiple characters each of whom have different abilities and move set lists, weapon pick ups, creative levels, multiple modes, online play, all of this while offering gameplay that is close to the likes of Super Smash Bros. This is a hardcore gamers free game and is difficult to master at first, but once you master the moves of a few characters, you might see yourself putting aside COD4 to kick someones ass by throw a boomer rang at their head then raining fireballs on them and to then finish them off with a running kick to the face! PWNED! (Summary written by me)

Voxelstein 3D - Ok for most people you will probably either love it of hate it. I fall into the category of loving it. The game was inspired by Wolfenstein and it is quite a trip. The game is I think one level long but its a big level and there is a ton of hidden things to find. What makes this game so unique is that everything in the game (when you start playing it), is made out of a block or a Voxel. What this means is that, using your knife or grenades or bombs, you can cut or blow up ANYTHING you see. Literally you can blow up a wall or the floor or a chair or anything you see. Now some might be turned off by the way the game looks and how the destructibility isn't exactly what you would expect, but the game dares to be different and in my book, it succeeds. Track Mania Nations Forever - I heard a lot about this game and I (stupidly) never bothered to look into it. Well the other day I did and boy was I happy i did. TM Nations Forever is a racer that lives up to the name. The tracks you race on are out of this world and its literally played by every nation. This game has both a singleplayer and multiplayer component that are both very good. The singleplayer helps introduce the person to the game and how it is played and pretty quickly becomes a challenge if you want that respected gold medal to unlock the other tracks. You are racing in F1 look alikes through loops, on the sides of walls, around obstacles, shooting yourself great distances, and even riding around in a half pipe, all in a very highly detailed environment equipped with amazing shadows, reflections, bloom lighting, and motion blur. This is a must-have for free PC gaming and after a while of playing it, you might forget that you got it for the price of nothing! (Summary written by me)

Sauerbraten (Cube 2) - This is a sequel to a pretty fun freeware game called Cube, respectively. It is a sandbox FPS in that you can make a level however you want, play whatever level you want, and tune the engine however you want. The game is sort of a poor mans UT2004, but it's still full of a lot of levels and a lot of fun. the multiplayer is fast and frantic and with so many levels to chose from, its hard to get bored of it. There are also some singleplayer missions that pit you against a horde of assorted demons and such which definitely adds to the replay value. Yet another small download for a lot of fun! The Hunter - This game has been circulating the GT forums now for quite some time but I'll mention it anyways. It's a hunter's version of Crysis graphically. obv its nothing like Crysis, but boy is it beautiful. the forests look amazing and the sound is also very well done. This game is hard to recommend to everyone because just like Voxelstein 3D, you will either love it or you will hate it, but if you like hunting games, you mine as well start beating your meat now because the game is hardcore into the hunting providing you with new guns and tools as you become a better hunter as your stats are tracked through the accompanying website. It's not for most but hey if you just want to take a stroll through a beautifully rendered forest, this game can definitely satisfy those needs also! (Summary written by me)

Codename Gordon - Take Half-Life and smash it onto something flat and you have Codename Gordon. This is a side scroller that is Half-Life in every sense of the word. You got your crowbar, you got your gravity gun, you got your headcrabs, you got basically everything you would have expected if Vavle came out with a 2D Half-Life. Very fun and stays true to its big brother. (Summary written by me)

Veck - Has anyone ever heard of Bullet Candy? It's a very very fast paced Geometry Wars pretty much and that is what Veck is. Veck has very trippy graphics that are good but there is a bit too much of motion blur. The gameplay is fun, fast and addictive as the Geometry Wars formula has proved in the past. One this this has on both Bullet Candy and Geometry wars? It is 100% free!! (Summary written by me)

Plasma Pong - It's exactly how it sounds. It's the original game pong with the addition of plasma changing up the gameplay. Accompanied by beautiful graphics, Plasma pong stays with the formula that made Pong so great in the beginning but changing things up a bit. With the inclusion of plasma, as the ball goes back and forth, you have the ability to push it by shooting plasma out of your stick or sucking the ball in and shooting it back out with the release of plasma and other particles confusing your opponent as the ball gets lost in the psychedelic colors that are flowing around your computer screen. The game is ten times more fun and the colors and particles are very fun to play with in the sandbox mode. A must-have for anyone whom has played Pong....or loves to smoka ze bong! Starseige Tribes - Starsiege: Tribes, one of Gamespot's Greatest Games of All Time and FiringSquad.com's #3 multiplayer game of all time. Vehicles. Vast outdoor environments. Focus on teamplay. Online support for at least 32 players. Base equipment and trinkets. Jetpacks offering full freedom of movement. Mixing and matching gear to create your own roles. Never the same game twice. Even today these features make Tribes stand out in a crowd of other FPS games, but in 1998 when the original Tribes was released, it was downright revolutionary. Whether you bought the box, downloaded the demo, or borrowed it from a buddy, chances are you've tried Tribes. If not, then you've still experienced its influence in any number of other games that have since embraced its successful combination of features. Starsiege: Tribes was the first major online-only first-person action game. Long before Counter-Strike, Battlefield, and a host of other imitators, Tribes offered up more than 32 player support, different player classes, a variety of weapon kits, a handful of multi-passenger vehicles, loads of gameplay types, a wide variety of maps, and plenty of team-oriented features. This combination created a game that was an instant hit among fans. (Summary Provided by NeutralX2)

Quake Live - Before Unreal there was Quake. If you wanted to blast people in the face with multiple weapons in fast and frenetic matches of free-for-all, team deathmatch, and capture the flag, Quake was where you went to do just that back in the early days of online gaming. Even now, the Quake series is still beloved by gamers and played by millions and thanks to Quake Live, you can join in on the craziness if you haven't and get your ass handed to you! All that is required of Quake Live is that you make an account for FREE so you can play the game! The website you play the game on is very well organized and there are always many games being played so it is very hard to not find a match. Quake Live also features a host of achievements so that you have more of an incentive to keep playing! (Summary written by me)

Phun - Who doesn't love to play with physics? In this little game you are given a wealth of tools and with the help of the very well made physics system, you can make just about anything you want! Think Little Big Planet but with way less production value and not as accessible. Once you experiment with the tools you have at hand, you realize rather quickly the many things you can make and do. Youtube has multiple videos showing the works of people and what exactly is possible in this very fun and unique little game! (Summary written by me)

F.E.A.R. Combat - For those few that have not play the original Fear, here is the low down: At it's time, it was praised for having an engrossing singleplayer campaign filled with scares and thrills aplenty and some extremely good A.I. and gunplay that was vicious and brutal. Carry this over to the multiplayer and you have one hell of a gaming package on your hands. Fear Combat strips the game of the singleplayer leaving just the multiplayer left. Is this a good thing? YES! To most, the multiplayer was the best part about the game! It's fun, it's fast, it's visceral, and most importantly, it's FREE!! (Summary written by me)

America's Army - Honestly if your a PC gamer that wants a free game and you haven't at least heard of this game yet, then you need help.

America's Army is one of the ten most popular PC action games played online. It provides players with the most authentic military experience available, from exploring the development of Soldiers in individual and collective training to their deployment in simulated missions in the War on Terror. In America's Army: Special Forces, the follow-up to America's Army: Operations which was released on July 4, 2002, players attempt to earn Green Beret status by completing individual and collective training missions drawn from the Special Forces Assignment and Selection (SFAS) process. Players who complete the SFAS process have the opportunity to take on elite Special Forces roles and are qualified to play in multiplayer missions with units ranging from the elite 82d Airborne Division to the 75th Ranger Regiment. Includes the complete game America's Army: Operations. (Summary Provided by America's Army Website)

Wolfenstein Enemy Territory - Just like Fear Combat, this game was stripped of its singleplaer component in favor for providing a free multiplayer game. Formerly an expansion pack, Enemy Territory is now a free, stand-alone multiplayer game featuring multiplayer support for as many as 32 players. Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory challenges gamers to the ultimate test of teamwork and strategy. Think Counter-Strike but without the buying of weapons and its set in World War II not terrorism and such. This game is very well balaced and requires some good team play in order to defeat the enemy. Yet another PC gaming classic! (Summary partially written by me, partially provided by Fileplanet website

The Suffering - One of my (personally) favorite horror/survival games I have played is The Suffering. Combing both first and third person shooting aspects, a great atmosphere, good story, a unique ability that Torque (the main character in the game) has, and scares aplenty, this game made it hard to play with all the lights out! Cave Story - Cave Story, or Doukutsu Monogatari, is a Japanese freeware PC side-scrolling platformer game developed by Studio Pixel . It has been translated into English by Aeon Genesis Translations and will have an official translation script published sometime in the near future. The developer, Pixel spent five years making this game as fun and as great as it is by adding solid controls, smooth gameplay, a great cast of characters and dialogue, an interesting plot, good music and beautiful old-school 2-D artwork. And on top of all this added multiple endings, several boss battles, tons of items to collect, all kinds of added secret bonuses and special challenges, various and considerably different methods of playing through the game depending on your actions, competition ranking features and an extremely high replay value. For a freeware game it is fairly lengthy too. Cave Story is by far the best freeware game I have ever had the honor of playing through and certainly one of the best games I've played. Facewound - Facewound might be one of my favorite free games I have run across. If anyone has ever played any of the flash games with the name Madness Combat in it, you will soon understand how much fun this game is. It is a side-scrolling shooter that features very well done 2D graphics with a host of 3D graphics thrown into the mix. Your goal is to make it to the end of each zombie-infested level alive. As you do this, you kill zombies and collect plutonium which, once you have enough collected, gives you access to multiple weapons, each one more fun to use than the last. Keep in mind that whatever bugs you run into are there forever and wont be changed cause the developers abandoned the project some time ago, but whatever the case may be, this game has some great production values and most importantly, it's extremely fun anf it's FREE!! Grand Theft Auto 1 & 2 - Need I have to explain these games? It's the first (Not counting GTA: London) GTA's! You got your car jacking, you got your great storys, you got the freedom to do what ever you please, you got your mass murder, you got your car chases, you got everything GTA is known for minus the fully 3D aspect. They are the first games in the famous Rockstar line of games known as Grand theft Auto! (Summary written by me) *Note: Gameplay video is of GTA 2 but each game is basically the same its like comparing GTA 3 to GTA: Liberty City Stories, only need one video and also the downloads require you to register to Rockstar's mailing list in order to download the games.

Wild Metal Country - Wild Metal Country, a PC classic from 1999, is a 3D strategic vehicular combat game, and one of Rockstar's earliest successes. Innovative for its time, the title has now been optimized for modern machines (to think, so much changes in only five years). (Summary provided by IGN website)

Project Torque - Project Torque is a MMORG or otherwise known as a Massively Multiplayer Online Racing Game. It features cutting edge 3D graphics, multiple game modes, up to 32 players per race, online rankings, advanced experience and Licensing System, online community features like chat and email within the client, shop and item mall for upgrades and car customization, and of course tournaments! This game is very unique and is a good way to escape the normal hardcore gamers MMO for something more casual. (Summary provided by FilePlanet website, edited by me)

Knytt Stories - Knytt Stories is a 2D platformer very similar to the likes of mario. In Knytt Stories, each level is its own little adventure. One level is included with the game, where you have to stop a machine that draws the life out of the planet. An official expansion pack is also featured at the website with four original levels. Vavatron - Vavatron, known as Project V, has a HUGE backstory that I am not going to go into but I will include a link for the full story on the game but in my summary I will talk about the actual gameplay. I feel that the comparison of this game being a cross between Robotron and Tempest is a bit of a misconception. It is very similar to Robotron but there really are no similarities between Vavatron and Tempest other than the graphics MAYBE. i would say its a cross between Robotron, Defender, and probably a shooter along the lines of Geometry Wars. You fly around saving humans and killing aliens in the process and your main goal, like any other arcade game, is to get the highest score possible. It's a pretty enjoyable game with upgrades to collect and multiple enemies on screen at once making it a fun and retro experience. (Summary written by me)

Mono - Mono is a computer game created by Binary Zoo in which the goal is to turn the entire screen either white or black. Described as Part Asteroids, part Robotron, part Paint Shop Pro, the unconventional shooter was originally created as a test project for Binary Zoo's other games, DUO and DUOtris. The player shoots alien-like colored blobs that when hit, color the background. There are three types of blobs (red, blue, and green) and when they are hit, divide and become smaller until they are eventually destroyed. As you color more of the screen, the game becomes harder as the blobs start to shoot missiles at you. The enemies' behavior depends on the background color below them. There are also powerups for the player such as health, weapon and invincibility powerups. (Summary provided by Wikipedia website)
Download link also includes downloads for the games Echo (Binary Zoo's take on Asteroids), DUO (a shooter like Mono, but closer to Geometry Wars), and DUOtris (take Duo and turn it into a Tetris-like puzzle game) *Note: I could not find videos of DUO and DUOtris. Gunroar - Gunroar is a naval themed shoot 'em up likened to a vertically scrolling version of Geometry Wars (or a cross between Asteroids and Space Invaders). The player controls a small, abstract gunboat which can be rotated through 360 degrees as in games such as Geometry Wars and Robotron. The game also features vertical scrolling; however, unlike the standard shoot 'em up in which the propulsion of the craft dictates the pace, players can control the speed at which they proceed through the level. The faster players move through a level, the more points they will score. The game features multiple modes dependent on how the game is controlled: the player can choose to control a single boat by means of the keyboard or mouse or a more complicated dual mode allowing the use of two boats using both hands on the keyboard. Gunroar was praised for its minimalist design, impressive polygonal graphics, and frenetic action. (Summary provided by Wikipedia website)

Freeciv - Freeciv is a free turn-based, empire-building, multiplayer strategy inspired by the history of human civilization, in which each player becomes the leader of a civilization, fighting to obtain the ultimate goal: To become the greatest civilization. Players of the Civilization series by Microprose should feel at home, since one aim of Freeciv is to have optional modes (called rulesets) with compatible rules. Freeciv is maintained by an international team of coders and enthusiasts, and is easily one of the most fun and addictive network games out there! That also means it has very extensive multilanguage support, something rare in games. (Summary provided by Freeciv Wiki website)

Eternal Daughter - The gameplay of Eternal Daughter is based on a classic style of side-scrolling platform action with added features such as secondary weapons and growth elements that are otherwise common in role-playing games. Items found throughout the game increase the strength of the player character's weapon or maximum number of health points. Also, as the game progresses, the player gains new abilities that can be used to explore areas of the game that were previously unreachable, progressively unlocking new locations within the game world. Because of this combination of gameplay elements, comparisons are often drawn to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Super Metroid, popular console games that feature the same type of platform action combined with exploration-based adventure. This kind of action-adventure game, Eternal Daughter included, is sometimes referred to by fans as Castleroid or Metroidvania, a portmanteau of Castlevania and Metroid. Eversion - To say that Eversion isn't the platformer it initially appears to be is a bit of an understatement. I feel that the entire experience is much more impactful if the player goes into it not really knowing too much about what they're getting into (as I did), so I suggest you just hit the download link above and run through it (it's only about seven levels) before coming back and reading this write-up. All you really need to know is that the platforming gameplay itself is very solid, and the sugary-sweet title screen and first few levels are pretty goddamn heavy misdirection. Dwarf Fortress - Dwarf Fortress is a single-player fantasy game. You can control a dwarven outpost or an adventurer in a randomly generated, persistent world. Although Dwarf Fortress is still in a work in progress, many features have already been implemented: The world is randomly generated with distinct civilizations spanning over 1000 years of detailed history, dozens of towns, hundreds of caves and regions with various wildlife. The world persists as long as you like, over many games, recording historical events and tracking changes. Command your dwarves as they search for wealth in the mountain. Play an adventurer and explore, quest for glory or seek vengeance. The combat model uses skills, body parts, wrestling, charging and dodging between squares, bleeding, pain, nausea, and much more. A dynamic weather model tracks wind, humidity and air masses to create fronts, clouds, rain storms and blizzards. (Summary provided by Bay 12 website)

GunZ - GunZ is in some ways very similar to other widely available FPS games. However, it also contains elements that are totally unique. GunZ allows the game's characters freedom of movement like console games or the actors in action movies. Scale walls, somersault through the air and leap over obstacles. Use guns and swords to engage your enemies in combat. GunZ is all about realistic fighting and agile movement. GunZ has a variety of character models from which you can choose. Customize your character with a wide assortment of clothing and accessory items depending on your own personal tastes. Once you've outfitted your avatar, its will have its own special look. GunZ supports a total of 12 item slots per character, which allows players to fully customize their chosen avatars. Select weapons in addition to clothing and accessories. Choose your weapons and then join the battle. Face your enemy with the knowledge that you are equipped with a variety of arms. Choose from pistols, rifles, dual wield guns, machine guns and more! Soldat - In Soldat, the player controls a small customizable soldier who possesses jet boots. These boots allow the soldier to fly for a relatively short time, before needing to automatically regenerate their fuel. The amount of flying possible at a time, and fuel regeneration rate, both depend on individual maps. The game is normally played over the Internet or a LAN, but it is possible to play offline against bots. There are a variety of game modes to choose from, ranging from the popular free-for-all (DeathMatch, RamboMatch, and PointMatch) to the team-based (Capture the Flag; sometimes in the CTF mode the black team (Michal Marcinkowski team) is on-line, Infiltration, TeamMatch, and Hold the Flag). In some modes holding or defending a flag is the primary goal, where in others it is simply to obtain the most frags, with minor objectives (for example, PointMatch sports a yellow flag which doubles its bearer's points). The most popular game modes are Capture the Flag and DeathMatch. Most games are fast-paced and chaotic. Bodies often explode in a spectacle of blood and body parts, sometimes being hurled clear across the map. Besides its ragdoll physics, the game's engine, written in the Borland Delphi programming language, employs realistic concepts such as momentum and gravity. Fall damage and recoil are also taken into account when Realistic Mode is enabled, and supply crates, dropped weapons, and grenades realistically tumble down steep hills; another effect is the flag's realistic waving as a player runs with it. Savage 2 - Players can choose between two factions: the Legion of Man or the Beast Horde. The initial launch of Savage 2 features the Conquer game type. This game is won by destroying the enemy's command center - which is either a stronghold or a lair. Each team elects one commander - which views the world top down - that should build defenses and upgrades to support his team. The other players of his team pick a class - which can be changed later - and scout for enemies and resources. The only real resource is gold, which can be gathered from gold mines. These mines are vital for each team since they are the only way to build defenses and pay the upkeep. Another task of the commander is to build garrisons or sub lairs, these serve as an additional spawn point - besides the command center. Good position and defence of these structures is essential: a well placed sneak garrison can give a team a huge advantage. After the base is set up, the commander should give orders to his team members and use a wide array of buffs and debuffs. Each player and each team as a whole gains experience and levels. Experience is gained from defending structures and siege, killing NPCs and enemies, building and repairing structures, healing and resurrecting fallen brethren. Both teams and players have a level 15 max. As levels are gained a player has the ability to add 3 percentage points to their characters attributes: health, regeneration, mana, damage, and armour. The team commander also has the ability to add attribute bonuses which affect each player on the team. There is a cap of 20% bonus for any given category and a maximum of 30 percentage points total. This means that it is a nice advantage but that skill is still the most important aspect of winning a skirmish. (Summary provided by Wikipedia website)

Tremulous - Tremulous is a free, open source game that blends a team based FPS with elements of an RTS. Players can choose from 2 unique races, aliens and humans. Players on both teams are able to build working structures in-game like an RTS. These structures provide many functions, the most important being spawning. The designated builders must ensure there are spawn structures or other players will not be able to rejoin the game after death. Other structures provide automated base defense (to some degree), healing functions and much more... Player advancement is different depending on which team you are on. As a human, players are rewarded with credits for each alien kill. These credits may be used to purchase new weapons and upgrades from the Armoury. The alien team advances quite differently. Upon killing a human foe, the alien is able to evolve into a new class. The more kills gained the more powerful the classes available. The overall objective behind Tremulous is to eliminate the opposing team. This is achieved by not only killing the opposing players but also removing their ability to respawn by destroying their spawn structures. (Summary provided by Tremulous main website)

Area 51 - Area 51 is a fast-paced, action-packed FPS taking place in Area 51 Obviously. The game features gameplay that is more of a futuristic Doom aka the shoot first, ask questions later kind of gameplay. The game gets to the action quickly as you are thrusted into a government conspiracy revolving around the base and what is going on inside of it. The story is decent, but is not the main focus of the game. The gunplay is well done with a varied set of weaponry, each with it's own feel and it's own strengths and weaknesses. If you just want to plast the hell out of everything you see, Area 51 is a good game to go with! (Summary written by me)

Action Doom 2: Urban Brawl - As a stand-alone version of the classic PC shooter, Doom, this game has the same basic gameplay concept of Doom, with a completely different look and feel and an actual story to follow it. The graphics make it seem as though you took the original Doom and threw it through a rainbow as it fell back to Earth into a respective city. The graphics are vibrant and colorful and the gameplay holds true to Doom as in, pick up as many weapons and as much ammo as you can and kill EVERYTHING! A fun and interesting take on Doom that is definitely worth a try. (Summary written by me)

not all those games are old, F.E.A.R is relatively new, for example; and QuakeLive is actually a browser based version of Quake III Arena.

If you want the original Quake, google 'equake'. It's the original game remade to work on modern systems.

Toribash is actually more fun to play then the description suggests, you use joints to move your limbs and the possibilities are endless, from launching your head at your opponents head in the air, to ripping your opponent apart limb from limb. or even rip yourself half!
