So after about 2 years of being an xbox fanboy (or fagboy...) I got tired of it and sold my 360. For the past 6 months I've been playing my retro games, ps2, and my handhelds to keep my gaming addiction under controll... Well, I've been with my other side of my family for the summer (a month so far) and have been playing ps3 with my cousins. I have to say it's way better than I thought it was, I was one of those "ps3 has no gaems" people. I am now willing to admit that the ps3 is the ultimate gamming console . I'm planning on buying a ps3 when I return home late july. But have a few questions... I'm kind of tight on cash so I'm going for a used one, how much am I expectiong to pay? and can I get a few names of games to fit my needs? I'll probably pick up 3 games to start, I'm looking for games with good online play as well as single player. I like shooters, action rpgs, adventure, etc. Not a fan of turn based rpgs, racing, or sport games. I was thinking of MAG, Resident Evil, and one other. any help with my gamming conversion would be great
I can't help you in terms of the estimated price. But MAG is a great game, I've had tons of fun with it. Resistance and Killzone are also both great games, Resident Evil is also good, so are the Uncharted games, the Ratchet & Clank games are really fun too. If your creative, and have lots of patience there's also Little Big Planet. And then of course you got Call of Duty, MGS4 (I advise you play the other MGS games first though), and then there's Fallout 3, and Oblivion as well. If your looking for good Arcade games like the 360 has, I'm afraid your out of luck though. The vast majority of Arcade games available on PSN suck, the only good ones being those ported from 360. I haven't downloaded a single arcade game yet. But ones on there that I know are good are Bionic Commando Rearmed... and that's about it.
elder scrolls 4 oblivon if a must have for xbox360 and anything else they should make a portable version of WoW thats free and non online they should also make ES4 Oblivon for psp
They we're making a PSP Elder Scrolls for awhile, but it's been canceled or something like that. Games to look forward to on PS3 are Killzone 3, and that new Twisted Metal game looks like it might be fun.
The thing is, you're going to be thrilled with your PS3 for half a year, then you'll have made your way through the backlog of games released and will feel like you felt for your 360 just before you sold it. Then you'll decide to try the Wii, you'll realize that it's not childish as most people say, you'll think the motion controller can be pretty fun when done properly and you'll say this is the ultimate gaming console. At least until half a year has passed. In my experience the key to gaming is to simply not play too often, get another hobby besides gaming and spend time on it, that way you pass through games a lot slower and your console lasts longer, you also tend to not die out on games, for instance I'm still playing Football Manager 2009, MW2 and Supreme Commander 2 - and I probably will still be playing these games in 2 months.
It's vaporware as of now, there hasn't been any info on it since it was announced. Apparently it was going to be JUST the dungeon segments anyways. Selling a console is the silliest thing ever, you're just going to miss out on more. And Seph is right about everything.
Wish I had a hobby...gaming IS my hobby ...And yet I haven't finished most of my collection of LEGALLY bought games... OP-Good for you, glad you joined the darkside...have a cookie
I'm not really worried about arcade games, there's always flash games that are peretty much the same thing. Well, I have other hobbies. I'm not the most social of people but I hang out about 3 times a week. I think that the reason I got bored of my 360 was because I wasn't gamming as much as I did before. Like, I use to play all day everyday, but then I slowly started doing other stuff and xbox wasn't my main thing to do. And I figure with the ps3 I could get something with an awesome single player mode and play it casualy just to see a storyline, but xbox is nearly always about xbox live. So I want to get the ps3 for casual gamming since it seems like it has the ability to entertain me for short periods of time. I'm not sure if that makes sence, but it does to me. I greatly except your cookie and can someone give me a price range? I have like $70 right now, and was going to sell one of my older bass guitars and maybe my psp (I only really use it for emulating on the go :/) so I'll probably have around $300 depending on how much I can sell my psp for (anyone know how much a psp slim 2000 with cfw sells for?)
Who would you be selling the PSP to? When I traded in my old Vader PSP at EB Games for the new Peace Walker Bundle I got $25, plus $75 since they have a deal where they add $75 to any console being traded in towards a new console. You said your PSP is hacked? If your selling it to say, a friend, maybe you can fetch $75 for it, that's just a guess though.
Get a girlfriend it could turn into something very interesting and you will think less of games. Hell you might actually acquire a platinum "You got Laid" trophy (go find an urban dictionary for definitions if your still lost)
Just try to limit your gaming time, ocassionally try not to play games for the whole day, increase the habit and soon you will find games boring ;D
Do you know anybody who's stupid, i.e. somebody who doesn't know the market value of a PSP? That's usually who I sell games to when I don't go to EB to trade them. I got the game Blacksite Area 51, it was supposed to be sequel to Area-51 I think, I dunno, but it sucked shit, because apparently the guys who made it weren't given the time to finish it, so it was riddled with bugs. I beat it, but didn't want to trade it to EB for half it's worth, so I took it to school, asked a few kids if they wanted to buy it, and ended up selling it to a kid for $45, not the original $60 I payed, but not half bad. Now, the kid (He was 16 at the time I believe) I sold it to is like most kids who play games these days, don't care for story, don't read reviews, just but what looks good, or the mainstream games (He plays Gears of War, that says something), so that's how I make my money selling games. I just find the right buyer.
Its sad that games are failing to hold our attention. I still feel that i can pick up diablo 2 and play all day everyday and not get bored for at least a few months. There's no heart in modern gaming, and it pains me.
That sounds like a good Idea, I'll go ahead and ask around. I never really get bored of retro games. Every now and then I'll plug in my nes and play some legend of zelda or super mario 3
Yes, I love me some Retro Games. From time to time I load up Super Metroid, Super Mario World, or some other game on my Wii. Unfortunately my SNES broke when I was young. That sucked so bad. I remember it like it was yesterday...
Check craigslist or the classifieds in your newspaper. I'm sure you can find one for cheap. Also, there isn't an estimated price on a used ps3? Anyone?
