odd issue with HP pavillion dv7-1129wm laptop

ok, i stated to someone i could try to fix their laptop, ok this is the best i can explain the situation its doing:
"the original issue was the laptop BSOD and wouldn't allow the recovery of the HDD"

when you push the power button on, the lights come on around the keyboard but it never shows any sign of it booting and when im looking at the keyboard, the caps lock light and the num lock light (i think) keeps blinking and it never boots up

i have tried to test the monitor by connecting an external monitor, but no luck with that.

im going to take it apart and see if it a slipped connection between the motherboard and the monitor causing the issue


i would love to hear from anyone on this issue
