OK, i own oblivion (i mean that in both senses ) on the 360 and i know that you can get mods and stuff on the PC version. I've googled this question, and got many varying answers, so i'm going to trust RomU. Here are my PC's details (ask me for more if needed) Model: Acer Extensa 5230E OS: Windows Vista Basic SP2 (32-bit) RAM: 3 GB HDD: 160 GB Graphics: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M Processor: Genuine Intel CPU 585 @ 2.16 GHz So can i run it? I wouldn't care even if it had to do minimum quality settings, i just want to play it!!! Thanls in advance
Loony, on Elder Scrolls when you just finish installing the game, it automatically chooses the graphics options for optimum performance on ANY pc, so I guess Irishkid will be fine.
i checked on the official website for the system requirements and my graphics uses 1000mb and the minimum was less. Plus it said the minimum direct x is 9 and i have 11 i think. Well it's not that expensive, oblivion, so i'll try it and i'll tell you if it works
Laced graphics cards, won't work. I have a nice system, but my card is crud. The card is below sub-par, Oblivion is somewhat picky, you can try using a program to make it run on your graphics card. But when you see what the end result is, you'll just go out and purchase the flipping card anyways. It's an investment in that sense.
Less than 1% of laptops have changable graphics chips, and I dont know of any intel based ones (ATI and nvidia use different connectors, so you're limited to the brand the laptop came with) that have. Manufacturers use intel integrated graphics to avoid the expense of dedicated graphics chips, and making the graphics subsystem upgradable is even more expensive than a dedicated graphics chip,
Ah, so basically people who buy intel laptops are screwed. Too bad building your own laptop takes so much effort.
no, but they make graphics chips that are used in some laptops. These are much better than intel graphics (although ATi laptop chips are poor). Laptops with upgradable graphics modules will already have ATi or Nvidia graphics, it is just possible to swap the module out for a higher model. (though choices are extremely limited).
