Recently I have caught this error "Not Optimum Mode recommended 1240x1024 60hz" something like that. I am using Samsung 710N I have been using this monitor for 5 years and nothing happen until recently. I have change my video card before, but that was roughly about a year ago and that error did not appear. Anyone know a solution for the situation.
My current resolution/refresh rate is on minimum which is exactly what the error show. This is why I am so confuse that it never happen before.
i know im kinda late haha but look at the back of your monitor and look for a sticker or something and it should tell you what your refresh rate is for you monitor i.e 60hz or something close, find out what video card you have(using "dxdiag" ask if you dont know) and google the optimal resolution for your video card... make sure that you are using the optimum anyway..... drop the resolution down to 1024x768 and see if you get the error still. and is the message coming from the monitor or the PC?
From my monitor currently window still run I can hear the sound just black screen cannot do anything =/ I have check the menu is 1280x1024 75hz. So my only choice might be changing monitor? I haven't had this situation before I have been using the same card/monitor for half a year this error just pop up weird........
no, you change the resolution to the highest one the monitor can do. (1280x1024 if thats what it said). Also change the refresh rate to 60hz.
ok so i went ahead and just googled the shit for you and there's two things that cause this 1. your monitor is dying on you 2. the only other way to fix it is in this link [read the whole thing] http://forums.techguy.org/hardware/580190-samsung-lcd-not-optimum-mode.html if the process in the link doesnt help you im afraid there might not be another way around this other than getting a new monitor goodluck
I have search quite a few forum about it everyone keep telling me to change the resolution back to what the error said, but the problem is I have a black screen with the error flying around. I can't do anything except to wait for some random day that the screen work for me so I can change it back to normal /cry Dying on me huh I am guessing that might be too cause it's been 4 years plus /sigh.....anyway thanks for the help
that sucks, if anything you can probably get a cheap one at the pawn shop until you can save up for a nice one... you can always crack that thing open and play with the toxic goo haha just kidding dont do it
boot into vga mode or safe mode and it should work? Then you can uninstall the graphics drivers, reboot in normal mode and reinstall them.
I wish.......Monitors don't? I like to work on it, but I just don't have the chance to do so every time I start my PC I waited a while and the the same black screen with the "Not Optimum mode" flying around /sigh......... Like I said I am waiting for a random day that the monitor would work for me so I can do something............../cry
