I heard downloading music isn't illegal but uploading is illegal.
    Does this apply to games?

downloading music is illegal as well as uploading them. some college student shared a bunch of his songs and spread it all over the internet. these songs got quite alot of downloads and some police or whatever tracked his ip and now has to pay over 100,000$ because of all the song downloads. so downloading music is illegal as well as games, heck, sharing anything you pay for is illegal

technically it depends on the country but its safer just to assume both uploading and downloading are illegal.

    That's why I don't upload games, I only download them ;)

Loony is right. In some countries it is legal and in others it is illegal.

Me too. It's not illegal to ASSIST people in fixing AP/flashcart/bootdisc issues (without giving them copyrighted images TO fix it), or writing tutes on the methods.

Supposedly though, It WILL be if/when ACTA gets crapped out of the supporting nations' asses.

I've never had reason to upload music or games.
I do however upload a few pictures. Always for comedic purposes. Unless I'm posting pictures of myself. Which I also do quite often despite only having a mobile phone with vga.

yeah downloading games isn't illegal but the person who uploaded the game for download could get caught. the warnings actually go to the uploader not the downloader

    That's riddled with flaws...

It is illegal to both upload and download copyrighted material no matter how you put it. :p
And warnings go to both parties.

I know a few people on here who have been fined for downloading copyrighted content.
