Nostalgia help needed for a Newbie to RPG's

Here is my problem - I keep getting killed in the Pyramid. I tried running away from fights when my heal potions ran out, but it's not letting me escape, I have to stay and fight and then pass out! Should I have done some quests first to get to a higher level before going to the pyramid? Should I spend all my cash on heal potions? Some general RPG advice would be great.

 

Try not to run away from battles...
And fight in the sewers if the pyramid is too hard.

 

At least level 5 or above in the pyramid, and buy equipment from Cairo.
That should let you fight in the Pyramid easier.

 

Thanks for the info. I've gone back to London and done the sewers quest. Now level five so heading back to the Pyramid.

 

Don't forget changing equipment !
It's crucial.

 

Have around 30 of the recovery items.
It helps.
