The other day, I added wood r4 v1.29 onto my SD card. It had a 1Gb MicroSD card. I felt that this was too small (I could only fit about 3-4 games depending on which one) and then switched it to a 2Gb card.

Note: I have an original r4 card.

    The problem:
Whenever I open the game, it has a black screen at the top and the bottom only shows the 3 menu icons - no text. I can still play the games on it and everything, but I can't get to the cheats nor check anything out. It worked before, but then it stopped when I deleted the 'zelda' and 'gbatemp' skin.

    What I have done already:
I put a back-up off all my games and deleted them all off my SD card. Then, I formatted it with the Panasonic SD formatter, downloaded Wood r4 v1.29 and put it back on. I followed the steps on http://gbatemp.net/t227742-new-users-guide-to-setting-up-wood-r4, copying and pasting the ".dat" onto the main of my SD card. I've done this twice, but the same thing still happens.

Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks~

It should be the globalsettings.ini file where all the Directions are stored, open the globalsettings.ini file and add englaish to lanugage and the name of the folder you will like to use for skin

    Ask CKr3 at hear http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=39701.0

    EDIT: Settings globalsettings.ini

uiName = zelda <- folder name you like to use for skin
    langDirectory = English <- language
saveext = .nds.sav <- save type, can be changes to just .sav files are both

You could copy/paste the quote list ^ into the globalsettings.ini and save it ;)

Also you might need the lastest usercheat.dat for the cheats folder, get is hear http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=47616.0

I put everything that was up there into the globalsettings.ini and saved it. However, it is still the same as before. I can bring the system settings up, though there is still no text. Perhaps it's the text colour?

When I say the same as before, I mean that there is no actual visual change. I can still access the games and play them.

You mentiond you deleted the skin folders ?

Mabe start from scratch, but this time do the settings from start menu on the ds screen from start

Try this one for R4 originals only http://filetrip.net/file.php?id=24932

I didn't delete the skins folder - only the zelda and the gbatemp skin. However, I already put them back by extracting them from that wood r4 v1.29 link that you gave me ()

First of all stop calling me CKr3, its CK3. >.<

And the problems she says that it showns sighs out that its most likely a R4 clone card.
First read the 'Wood R4 Setup Guide' and 'FAQ' section in this topic: http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=39701 and try redownloading it with the links there.
If all failes try 'Wood for M3' and/or 'WAIO for R4 Clones'.

Also no changes needs to be made to the 'globalsettings.ini' cuz all the settings have automaticly be assinged in the way they need to be withing the '_ds_menu.dat' file
