Hey was up, there is no point to the trial pal you pay more than 5 dollars just to get 10,000 points and whats up with the point system you should be able just to download the games ??? :-X
The trial pay thing is for people who would be willing to fill out those offers and stuff for the sake of getting points and premium membership for free. You only have to pay a minimum of $5 for 10,000 points. No idea where you're getting the idea that you had to pay more than that. The points system is in place so we don't have to worry about going over the bandwidth limit. The only time you have to spend points is when the file you're downloading is bigger than 50MB and if you're just downloading DS games you're probably not going to use them very often.
Hi mkogja & welcome to RomUlation, you don't need to pay for an initial point, you get 500 points when you register & you get 50 points more every 24 hours server time, so if you don't want to pay money, you can just wait 'til you accumulate enough points to download a big file Also it's not a forced payment, it's a donation you willingly give to support the guys behind the site (seph, Patton & loonylion). And to be honest, let me asure you by saying that RomUlation's points system is by far THE best points system there is you can find
Servers are not free, neither is bandwidth. We have 7 servers, all of which need a secure building, airconditioning, electricity, fire suppression equipment and maintenance. This must all be paid for from somewhere. Bandwidth costs us $7 per megabit; we use well over 100 megabits bringing the total monthly cost of running this site to over $1,800. Why should we pay for this out of our own pocket? If we didn't have the point system the $1,800 monthly cost would be closer to $5,000. Seph and I do not have jobs; we cannot afford this sort of monthly expenditure. We think that it is perfectly reasonable, considering all the work we put into this site, to ask people to contribute to the costs of running it, and in fairness to them we try to keep the costs under control, by having the point system. Just be grateful that we give you free points at all.
