Is this series pretty much finished on the DS? I can't believe that they're only going to do one game for it. I thought Metroid Prime: Hunters was a big hit! I found the controls a bit iffy at times, but hey, screw the Metroid Prime 3D play and bring back 2D Metroid anyway! After finishing Metroid Fusion I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed playing it. Absolutely 'solid' side-scrolling gameplay through and through. Even the newest DS Castlevania's couldn't touch it IMO (Finished Dawn of Sorrow about a month before I tackled Fusion).

So, here I sit and count 3 Castlevanias released for the DS already, 5 Mega Mans!! and numerous craptastic Final Fantasy originals or PORTS! I know those titles aren't developed by Nintendo, but still, they should try and keep pace.

What the hell is Nintendo doing?? Where is the next Zelda (More like A Link to the Past please and NOT like the puzzle romp that Hourglass was) or F-Zero, Contra or any of the other SNES greats?

I would love to see DS versions/sequels of Actraiser (Based on the 1st one), Ghouls N Ghosts and how about an updated Pilot Wings more akin to Microsoft's Flight Simulator series??

I guess when you sell 10s of millions of consoles you think you can afford to sit on your ass and let the shovel ware get you to the next trough. Bastards!

Nintendo it still concentrating on their casual market. Rumor has it their next game is going to be Zelda on the Wii.

Only after Punch Out! on the Wii.

Also Metroid Prime (the first one) came out on the Wii with revamped controls in Japan.

I played Zero Mission a long long time ago, but that was through No$GBA on computer so I'm not sure of how I'd rate it, I'm probably gonna have to play it again on my DS to get a better perspective.

I didn't know about that metroid 2 remake, but was away of some other one that extended the maps of the original Super Metroid [This may be it: http://drewseph.zophar.net/] which I never got around to trying.

It just seems odd to me that there are so many Metroid fans around and so few Metroid titles. Where does the blame lie? Nintendo, the Metroid designers unwillingness to design or release more titles or just lackluster sales? :(

I actually don't expect a new Metroid for a long time, the company that made Metroid Prime isn't working on Metroid again.

I hope Nintendo makes a new 2D one, like you I thought Metroid Fusion was the shit, I also recently played Super Metroid and LOVED IT.

    Please Please Please 2D Metroid.

i hate the fact they are bringing these games back out with the only draw being different controls.

    Pikmin ......  ??? why?

    seems rather lazy.

It's better then the GBA ports, the Wii ones take more effort than the GBA ones.

More effort yes, but not enough

I think they should at least include some retro games of the series to those bundles to make them more worthwhile (and not silly samples like there was in SSBB)

wasn't there a rumor of a metroid for the ds? supposedly something was mentioned on metroid prime 3, which may or may not indicate a possible new 2d metroid.

there is a problem for introducing a metroid game and hopefully it doesn't end up like megaman x.

For the people that haven't played Metroid Prime and Pikmen and Mario Tennis on the Gamecube, they can now play a version with better and more intuitive controls.

Which I plan to do with Metroid Prime and Pikmen, I haven't played either because I can't find the GC versions anymore. Plus it give the Wii some game time because it's a dust collector.

;D you're right there, I have not played a decent game on it since SSBB
