All of you people are saying, "Change it to WEP in your router settings" but where IS the router settings and also, I really want to know if it's so dangerous because I'm so horrified that someone will hack me.

I'm sorry I have to ask it again, it's just that I need an easier explanation and more information because just saying that is not enough!

    [facepalm]

to access the router settings you need to enter its ip address in to your web browser. if you don't know what it is look in the manual or google the name and model of your router and look for this information.

    it is extremely simple

and no one will hack you, yes WEP is not as secure as some other security codes but not many people can do it or want to so don't worry

alternatively, go to 'run' on the start menu, type 'cmd' and press enter. Then, in the window that comes up, type 'ipconfig /all'. some text will come up, and in there should be 'default gateway' with 4 numbers separated by dots to the right of it. these numbers are your router IP address.

Will it affect anything. In "Network Authentication", I select "OPEN" then I can enable WEP but how do I know my WEP code?

    Here is a screenshot:

you need to set it in the network key 2 box. make one up. You then need to enter it into your computer and ds.

    Wait, NO!

It works but I got another problem about it, when I enter the WEP key and it tests my internet connection, it catches the connection but later it gets out of range (I'm actually in the right place) and it won't work!

probably radio interference, find the page where you set the wireless channel, and change the channel (preferably to channel 1, channel 6 or channel 11).

log into your router, find the page with 'wireless channel' or 'radio channel' (or just 'channel'), probably on the same page where you set your ssid, and change it. then click apply.

If your point blank (like right next to it) then that is a good start, but it won't garrenty (poor spelling sorry) that the router would work...

If it does then it must have been a strong signal coming from the phone...

What brand is your router, it might help as some are more compatible than others (as nintendo says...)

yes, a cordless phone will affect it. If the router has the wifi alliance certification then there shouldn't be any compatibility issues.
