no$gba2.6 games not saving/not loading

I just downloaded no$gba version. 2.6 to play on my PC (Im using Windows XP if it matters) and a few games, they run okay (except Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon) but I can't seem to save the games. Every time I start the emulator up it acts as if there was never any save data. Admittedly I have no idea what I'm doing with my DS emulator and don't know if everything is set up right. I read through the Common Issues thread which didn't help me. I was wondering if any of you could please explain to me how to set up the emu so that I can actually save and enjoy my games.

Also, every time I load Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon the bottom screen says "Unable to save data. Please turn the power off, reinsert the Game Card, and try again."

What am I doing wrong?

You are using the old version of no$gba, use the latest version 2.6a as well its addons, no$zoomer 2.3.0.2.

You may need firmware.bin in the main folder of your no$gba2.6a emulator
