so i usually only play final fantasy 12 revenant wings on my ds emulator.

but i just recently decided to give cod4 a try,

i stoped playing after like 5 minutes(didnt like it)

then i tried play ff12 and it didnt have my save on there anymore?
    what could of happened?

the save might have corrupted. it could happen if the no$gba process ended while the emulator was running.

there is no way of recovering the save file at all?

cause i been puttin some serious hours on that save,
and i really would not like to start all over.

and if i do start over i would like to know how it happened.
so i can keep this problem from happening again,

well, the save should be in a folder called BATTERY (capital letters and everything), so if you moved the emulator (just the executable) from a place to another, then the save didn't go along with it and the emulator will just create another BATTERY folder and create a new save there.

so the save might not have been lost.

i have not moved it or anything all i did is try out cod4,

and cod4 said please reinsert cartidge blah blah blah,

so i changed the emulation video thing,

i got sick of that game so i decided to play ff12,
and the save was not there.

    of course!

go to options and set "NDS cartridge backup media" to AUTO.

i tried that and it there is only an auto setting for the gba back up media.

there is not one for the nds,

and i went to the BATTERY file like you mentioned earlier,
and the save file is still there.

its just not loading with the game for some reason.

then change the nds cartridge backup media to what you had before.

also, i can see you're not using the latest no$gba. you should be.

Please check if you do indeed have 2.6a in Help>About. If you do not, link is in the Common Issues https://www.romulation.org/forum/index.php?topic=1462.0 :)
