This topic is regarding Soul Silver of the Pokemon Series.

I just obtained my third badge, and I found that crashes occur right after I save the game.
These crashes seem to happen 100% of the time whenever I save.

Here is what the crash says:
    NO$GBA -- FATAL
    The rom-image has crashed.

    For some additional information:
I am using the patched version of the Japanese rom that was kindly posted for all of us.
However, to avoid starting all over, I renamed my .sav file for the US Soul Silver rom and loaded it with the Japanese rom.
I used the emulator by itself & No$Zoomer after, but they both had the crash error.

    Here are my emulation settings:
    1. GBA Cartridge Backup Media: Auto
    2. NDS Cartridge Backup Media: Auto
    3. Emulation Speed: Realtime*2, Auto
    4. Reset/Startup Entrypoint: Start Cartridge Directly

I also leave my AR code on throughout the whole game (it's set on Action Replay and RAW):
    020DD9E4 E1A00000

Could anyone kindly guide me through or point out any settings/steps that need to be done?

    Insight is greatly appreciated!

Looks like you used different AR Codes for SS, I'm using this code btw,
    Code:
    020DE16C E1A00000
    020D3FA8 E1A00000

I had passed the 4th gym without minimal crashes.
and make sure to remove the RAW.

Just post in the other topic if there's any problem.

    Oh yes!
The one you're using is the (U) version.
I just downloaded the (J) version with the patch & they gave a different AR code for the black screen.
They also told us to put it on RAW @___@

    Oh, didn't notice the 'japanese'.

Try remove the RAW, and see if it's working.

Try switch to the US version.

    I resolved the problem! -- accidentally ;D

Basically, don't press any button you set as "A" or "B" during the save.

I left the save complete without pressing A or B during the save and my rom-image didn't crash.
Next, I DID press A and B and it crashed!

Tested this a few times (Yes, I know. It sounds silly.).
