All emulators that require BIOS files don't include them with their product because of a lot of legal issues. You see BIOS files are copyrighted materials so including them with an emulator is kinda illegal. You can however find them on the net, if you try hard enough.

By the way, which BIOS files are you looking for anyway?

If you're looking for the GBA BIOS, it's in this thread:

Find it on GBATemp.Net, don't expect it to work with no$gba though. Remember, you don't need BIOS to play games, no$gba has a built in "virtual" bios. Also, use no$gba 2.6a, search the forums.

Speaking of BIOS Files, how come codebreaker codes need the ND S7 BIOS file? Is this the NDS's BIOS or is it the codebreaker device's?

a lot of forums forbid talking about BIOS or roms or emulation for that matter.

luckily, this forum isn't such a nazi about it.

I'd assume they load the code from the BIOS, or they created their own BIOS version to work with their codes. insane, this site is main involved with ROMs and games.

roms and games might be fine but BIOS reaches a whole new concept of copyright infringement.

but whatever floats your boat. I didn't actually think openly talking about BIOS would be acceptable here.
(I guess if you are speeding 20 over, you might as well make it 60 over since it is basically the same consequence)

Talking about BIOS should be fine.

I google searched the BIOS file & according to several places, the NDS actually uses two BIOS Files. The first, NDS7 is used to decrypt certain information on the video aspect, which is why several NDS games work on no$gba but have video related issues. This BIOS File is also needed for codebreaker codes as the makers of the codebreaker device used the NDS7 BIOS file to decrypt codebreaker codes for some reason.

The second BIOS file, NDS9, is responsible for decoding the audio aspect of NDS games, which again was the reason why some NDS games sound crappy on no$gba.

And yes, everyone's on the hush-hush on the DS's BIOSes, so there's nowhere you can download them.

Of course, each for each processor, however they are usually packed together, to make it easier to use. Actually Arm7 is mostly used for rendering 2d graphics, as Arm9 for 3d graphics.
