iPod Touch / iPhone are also designed as gaming systems, not only music/phone...

If not then what do downloadable games do in the App store? Just for the looks? I don't think so.

they are NOT designed as gaming devices. ipod touch is a crappy music player and iphone is a crappy phone.

No they are not crappy at all.

Yes they are partially designded as gaming devices. No doubts.

No, they are not designed as gaming devices. Just because they are capable of something does not mean they are designed for that purpose. And yes, they are undeniably crappy. There are non-apple devices out there that perform the same designed function far better and cost far less.

3/4 of all games made for the iPhone, iTouch or iPad are games which use the accelerometer. And just because the iTouch can be used to play games from the App store, doesn't mean it's specifically designed for games. The games are shit anyway. "Turn left and right using the accelerometer to win" is the majority of these games.

Well, you appear to be in a rather small minority here then I fear.

Oh well. This likely isn't going to happen.

PC just means Personal Computer, lost on most people. They seem to think Macs are an evolved form of PC that should never be mentioned in the same sense. Either way, it makes it easier to differentiate good computers from Macs, so whatever.

Also, I've seen many an iPhone and iTouch and I can guarantee that every game is just a shitty gimmick. I've played games on older motion enabled phones that have games that give me the same entertainment value. The day we consider an Apple product to be a gaming device will hopefully never come. Ever.

A PC by definition is a computer that is 100% compatible with the original IBM PC. macs were always a completely different animal until they started using intel processors. While I suspect that they are still not 100% compatible due to the weird BIOS they use (or more accurately the system they use instead of a BIOS), in all other respects they are essentially overpriced PCs running a shit operating system.

But at least people who use Macs can feel more important than PC users :)

That ad campaign failed, everyone loved John Hodgman as the "I'm a PC Guy" and wanted to kill Justin Long, the "I'm a Mac guy".

I have a good reason to hate apple. They destroyed a very good machine and a very stable OS. Macs were superior to PCs before they started using intel processors, and MacOS prior to OS X was a stable and functional operating system. OS X is an operating system for toddlers. They charge a fortune for what is essentially a piece of shit computer that cannot be upgraded.

And what about the Iphone/ipod touch/whatever the hell all the names of the different ipods are.

Just wasn't really nice for you to shit all over yoshi's topic because you have a beef with apple. While i had a good laugh when Gamefaqs added the Iphone next to real gaming handhelds and consoles, i thought at least the option for a general apple/mac/iphone gaming board should at least be a little considered, if many people are actually interested in it. When half the people here aren't posting in stupid SPAM topics.

i agree partially but i like more macs than Pc's at least with my mac i dint had to install 3 different kinds of defenses againts viruses but they really shouldnt have made it so that every time they relaese a new OS for they palttaform you have to buy a new mac, oh and most people think PC=windows, most people believe mac is different from a PC.

anyhow i still would buy a desktop mac, problem with windows is its ridiculous tradition of putting OS over OS and not caring of making a solid system, at least with mac we have 6 different plattaforms windows has as minimum what 7 OS ( win 95,97,98,200, XP, Vista and 7) plus mac has an user friendly system which windows has not, still they are separate plattaforms, both have its own games and stuff and mac now has acess to steam, making it officially a gaming computer.

Macs aren't gaming computers and can't be customized as such. Comparing them to any gaming PC will show zero competition. A $1000 PC, built, not factory made, will beat even that $3500 Mac you wasted your money on when it comes to gaming. Saying that it having Steam makes it a gaming machine is ridiculous as hell too. Steam still has to specifically make the games for Mac, and even then, it's pretty much exactly like saying "They made a game for it, so it's a gaming machine!"

Apple as a whole just isn't enough. In my opinion, iPhone, iTouch, iPad, etc., can just fall under Other if somebody wants to think of it that way. An Apple section for the many same games is completely unnecessary. If it can't even compete with hand helds, it shouldn't be considered a gaming device.
