a really good and insightful article.
why is it only nintendo but for some reason not sony nor microsoft. sony made ps3 and it bombed while nintendo was suppose to be a third party developer by now but they succeed. why are these events only particulary nintendo only but sony and microsoft will never happened. it's something to think about.

Yeah i think Nintendo will focus kinda more of a handheld system instead. Since it sad but most people that plays video games these days are totally just sold if the graphics are good. But luckily there are parents who buy things like the "WII" since its more of a family thing. But yeah if they are going to make another home console i think it wouldnt sell that great...

you're right, the ps3 didn't bomb. all the ps2 owners went on to buy ps3. you're right, ps3 didn't bomb. my mistake.

Yeah, cause all the N64 owners went on to buy a wii and all the xbox owners went on to buy a 360...

As long as Nintendo keeps releasing cheap consoles, then all is okay for them.

EDIT: I bolded(?) some of the text that was actually a quote from the article without realising it. I also didn't bold my opinion on one paragraph. I've now resolved these issues leaving the rest of my post unchanged.

Lol at "Microsoft will release a high-end console."

If you can get places like retirement homes and day cares to purchase Wiis that will be used and played with, that means you've got a market there, right? A bigger market is good, isn't it?

Hahaha, that article made me lol hard.

Its the same as the guys who used to compare the Ps2 with the N64 or anything like that.

Its very "easy" to compare a new generation with a old one. I wanna see if MS and Sony will be able to compete with Nintendo's new console.

Most, because the few n64 gamers wanted power, when the cube came out, they still wanted power...thus xbox.

    Yes.

It seems that (in my opinion) nintendo did better in the old 8/16bit generations, but when the n64 came around it went up and down...

If not for the massive amount of casual gamers wanting cheaper games (unless it had more features on a ps3 and not just graphics, I'd buy a wii version of said game) the wii would have died early on.

Alot of the user's on gamecube were kids or nintendo fanboys supporting it, the cube sucked sales wise, nintendo finnally got the formula right here...but can they do it again?

I say stop predicting, and watch, it's more fun this way :)

(SHeesh, another nintendo topic-I don't know if your a fanboy ultra or you just want attention!)

As for the why not xbox or sony or whatever...they are still making sales off their consoles (though remour has it sony is loosing money on each console they make while the wii is making a decent profit).

These predictions aren't predictions, just someone sitting back and thinking that it could happen...it spreads fear and it may infact happen because people are being scared by the facts brought up.

Wait and see is what I say, I hate predictions anyway.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

If Nintendo wants to one up the Wii, they'll have to grab the casual market again.

Also ultra, you're digging deep for these dumb editorials. This was probably the worst editorial I've ever read.

It might just be me wearing a duck suit ::)

And yes, they would have to, and it's a big market they have tapped into, there will always be casual players out there.

I'm hoping that you understood what I meant.

What you just described was a prediction. It's a negative prediction, but it's still a prediction.

I predict that a car will enter my house in a couple of minutes and will grab the steak knife in the kitchen (that I should be in by the way) and stab me and my family in the heart a million times, then put us in the trunk, and drive itself in the Red Sea. It's a weird and stupid and bad prediction, but it's still a prediction.

I did, but what I meant was...

    I don't believe it.

And remember I'm no better at debates than ultra, this is mear opinion, there will always be causal players, and nintendo will always have a source of people to sell to since casuals lack the money to buy all the latest games (since most would be jobless kids w/stingy parents) and the fact is...there are less hardcores in this world.

the purpose of this post isn't to say that the article is good. what this post is to say is that there are constant articles about nintendo failing. if it's not this article, there is another article and another. the question is, why is it only focused solely on nintendo. how often do you hear articles of, sony about to leave video games or the next 360 will be more broken then the current one? we don't, but it's important that all articles should be about how nintendo is doomed to die. why not sony or microsoft, but only nintendo?! you're the hardcore and the industry, you tell me.

sony bombed and there is no article about sony possibly leaving the video game market or how the next sony playstation console could be the end of sony. ps2 to ps3 surely showed that it didn't bombed btw. but nintendo went from third place to first place and there are articles about nintendo is going to die with their next console. as a matter of fact, nintendo is suppose to be a third party developer by now.

Because your looking only for nintendo based articles, try searching for a sony/xbox one :p

And unlike the dedicated game company nintendo, those companies won't die, they'd live on despite the losses (because they do more than games).

And I cbf'd reading more than 2 lines of your reply, bored me to sleep...speaking of which it's 2am and thank you come again :)
