I'm pretty sure most of you guys know whats happening right now. Nintendouche is finally taking action against r4 cards. ( The rest of you can go screw yourselves cause you're safe...FOR NOW.) They're suing or fining the creators of r4 & gadget gear , Patrick and James Li $620,000.00 by way of damages. SHIT that's a lot of money. Personally, I'm on r4ds's side...no reason at all actually, I just want to download games instead of buying it LOL simple as that. But I mean, think about it, if you were the president of Nintendo, or someone working for Nintendo, and you found out that these 2 or 3 or whatever amount of people are making these emulators or game cards that illegally download games instead of buying it. Nintendo lost over millions of dollars per year to international pirates & counterfeiters. GadgetGear will also be delivering to Nintendo all its stock of game copiers for destruction. NOOOOOO bs. THEN AGAIN, Nintendo makes half the games we play...so I'm kinda in the middle. I've downloaded over 300 dollars in games, and I'm proud of that LOL :D. So anyways, which side do you support ? Nintendo or R4DS / other emulators.

I dont realy care one way or another.... They can put all the anti-piracy they want but someone sooner or later will crack it.... And besides if I realy wanted a game then I would go out and buy it....

I fully support anti-piracy for Nintendo. They have the right to protect their material against pirates.

Then, what kind of reason to a Copyright protector in here?

I applaud any company who takes legal action against pirates or has a better way than DRM to combat pirates. Devs work hard on their games that they make, to pirate the game is like a slap to the face.

Didn't the R4 suit happen a while ago?

I support the AP Nintendo uses. It's the best they can do to make free leechers pissed off for a few days/weeks.

If the game is great, and is only half playable as a ROM...Why not just buy it? Money is a weak excuse.

I don't care either way. I have confidence in the people who crack the ROMs and get around AP enough not to worry about it. I still go out and buy games, for example I just downloaded HeartGold, but I still plan on going out and buying it. So either way, I still don't care. To sum up my opinion, as long as it doesn't effect my ROMs, I don't care. And if it comes down to it, I'll learn what I need to and crack my own ROMs.

i dont care, i just do whatevers easiest for me.
downloading games is easier than having to go to the shop about 400m away but if i have to walk that massive distance i will do it :p

The guys that made R4 make assesories for the DS, not lisenned but yeah. Realistically, they havent went into this site yet. Or others yet.
Some reasons for illegal downloads (or using an R4)
-expensive games: a crappy, half finished game for 50 bucks.
-Too many games, too many flash carts. Some people don't want to carry a huge crap load of games when the R4 can support 2GB on stuff. That's a lot of games in one little card!
-It is too easy to obtain! You can download on this site and use it on an emulator/r4. To me, I got GTA:CW on an emulaotr, a lot of fun. I don't have a DS and I probably will never have one...
-Testing games. Some people use emulaors to test the game, the on their DS if it;s fun or not. WHY IS THEIR NO BETA or TRAIL VERSION of games on the DS?

    And that is about it!

Actually, money isn't a weak excuse, you can't exactly buy a game if you don't have the money too now can you.

Although i was thinking about buying Soul Silver, not because of AP, it works fine on my Acekard, not sure why but for some reason i kind of want to buy it.

    Yep!

When I want a certain game, I buy it.
And when I don't, I try it out first and then don't play it ever again. :p

In my case I not pro-piracy neither anti-piracy. Since we pay abusive prices here (close to 1500 for a dsi and almost 300 for one game), I'm not supporting Nintendo. We had fair prices when they had stuff done here, but they left with no acceptable excuse, now we're forced to buy imported stuff.

Money is a VERY weak excuse. Answer me this, If you want to get a really cool PS3 game and don't have any money for it, what are you going to do? Are you going to steal it?

Piracy should only be for old games IMO.

Money is not an excuse. I bought 5 DS for like $150 or more and I really couldn't afford any more games. we are still in a recession so it is hard for me to find a job. That's why i spended 20 bucks on an R4 so I can download games without paying for them, because I couldn't afford too. So i kinda do support AP, but it gets cracked eventually.

No, because it's easier to get caught that way :p

Also, money isn't a weak excuse, since if i don't have money then i can't buy it.

I download games since i have a flashcart, i know i'm stealing. I don't have money to throw away on games, so i download DS games, that's really all there is to it

Start paying 200% taxes over almost every stuff then say again money is a weak excuse. Or better yet, If you say money is a weak excuse, gimme your money so I can buy some original stuff instead of going into piracy and stuff, XD.

Using that "If you don't have the money, don't buy it." sure it's an old excuse I hear since I was a little kid. I'm ok with people that agree with anti-piracy issues. What I can't stand is people that think like the ones that had put anti-piracy stuff. That doesn't do any better, and also gives more strength to people that do piracy stuff.

No new opinions or info is going to be given, so might as well keep it to one thread, if any at all.
