Well, the wait to hear when the Nintendo 3DS will be coming out is finally over, Nintendo has announced that the Nintendo 3DS will be released in Japan on February 26, 2011 and March 2011 in the US and Europe. Oh…I guess the wait really isn’t over.

The Nintendo 3DS will cost 25,000 yen in Japan. Converting that to USD comes out to about $300! However, it would probably be in the $230 range, if we had to guess, when it launches here.

It will come in Aqua Blue and Cosmo Black colors when released.

Other information announced for Nintendo 3DS
-Miis will be coming to Nintendo 3DS
-Mii Studio will allow you to take a picture of yourself with the Nintendo 3DS camera and adjust the Mii with Mii Studio.
-Tag Mode Mii Plaza - You can view all the Miis you've collected via Tag Mode
-Will come with a 2GB SD card
-They will be selling GameBoy and GameBoy Advanced "virtual console" games
-"Classic" games can be viewed in 3D

The rumored specs on then Nintendo 3DS are that it will contain the following:

    Two 266MHz ARM11 CPUs
    PICA200 133MHz GPU by DMP
    4MB of dedicated VRAM
    64MB of RAM
    2GB SD card

I found this quite interesting that there is going to be Miis like the Nintendo Wii.

That's a powerful little console, especially from Nintendo. It's about 50%+ more powerful than the PSP.

I see no reason why the 3DS wouldn't be able to emulate PS1 and N64 to perfection. Especially PS1.

That not news. A lot of games are getting ported on launch.
Like Ocarina and Star Fox 64... talking about the second, the 3DS version has better graphics compared to the original.

If its possible to buy the games online and save the taxes + import prices I will happily buy it now and then.

    At least the best games.

Without taxes, games are ridiculous cheap. And since GBC and GBA we don't need to pay for the physical cartridge, its even cheaper.

    Oo around U$ 300,00... holy sh*t.
All that plus over 100% taxes based upon the 3DS's original price....will be like R$ 2000,00 here Oo
    My PC is R$2500,00.
I don't think it worth all that money for that minigame.

PSP2 doesnt even exist yet but there are rumours
but i would prefer a nintendo 3ds if i have to choose
nintendo DS killed the psp with his low spec graphics, but the games are the ones that say the last in the end, thats why nintendo ds won by far...
why a nintendo 3DS wouldnt kill that one too just look at the games coming out :O

I was thinking on buying a new ds cause mine got sick (L button dead r.r i hate that) but ill just wait for march for the 3DS to come out :p
