Regarding the first, how long did it take for hackers to create stuff like the NDS flashcarts, dumpers etc? Do you think it will take around the same time, more, less, or that dumping 3DS games will be impossible? Just curious at how will the community react once it gets released.

Regarding the second, does ROMulation get the funds for keeping the servers up and running entirely from Premium Accs? Does the site get any other kind of financial aid?

I can only answer part of your series of questions. You will NOT see 3DS ROMs for a while as 3DS is new technology and requires the hackers to learn the ins and outs of 3DS. But I speculate that 3DS dumping will be possible, just incomplete. Maybe some "3d" technology will be lost in the dumping, Or the games just won't start. Possible, but will take a long time and will most likely have problems.

    I agree.
It will be much clearer when it shows how the 3DS plays games.

If what they say is the graphics are immensely improved, then I guess there will be more space to add that extra amount of graphics. So I guess the gamecards will be bigger then DS ones.

The highest space for a flashcard right now is 512MB
I'm guessing games will be bigger than that.

Then I guess hacking would be even harder. Since the size is bigger and there's more data in it.
[me=Stanley Richards]wonders how game cards would look like.[/me]
And I'm sure Nintendo has some sort of "UBER ANTIPIRACY THING!!" that would prevent hacking for a while. So MANY MANY MANY things to hack for just one game.

    That's right.
It's probably going to be hard just to even dump a rom.
I'm sure Nintendo will do their best to stop Piracy.
Probably go fully insane to stop it.

But would'nt that mean the games would be much more expensive? I mean, having the extra hardware and everything..

    Maybe.

But I read somewhere that you can turn the 3D feature off if you want.
So maybe there's some file in the games and it connects to a file in the 3DS so that it can be 3D.
So maybe it's not the Game that has everything 3D in it.
The 3DS makes it in 3D

I see. So it's mostly the 3DS eh... Then the 3DS would be overpriced then.

But I don't think there will be many 3DS Only games. the DSi only had a few DSi only games...

Well I don't know about that.
The DSi could play the DS games normally.

I wouldn't think Nintendo would put so much money in to making these if their weren't many games for it.

The 3DS has backwards compatibility with original DS games.
But that will most likely not be able to be in 3D.
So they would maybe remake games so they can be in 3D or make a bunch of new games.

    I smell a Zelda in 3D.

The game cards are supposedly going to look like the DS cards we have now, since the 3DS will be able to play DS games...
That is unless they add the second slot again (Slot 1 for 3DS, Slot 2 for DS)

"The Nintendo 3DS will have back-wards compatibility for your old Nintendo DS games"

Meaning Slot 2 for DS, Slot 1 for 3DS.

Probably twice the size for 3DS games.

I don't know if they are continuing using flashcards.
But then what else would they use?

Probably mutated shapes of cartridges, like the donkey kong GBA game.

But the thing will need a lot of space for the games.

... I just had a weird thought. The DSi XL is considerably larger then the DS lite and DSi. If their getting bigger ever release...

    Hahahha Nice Picture.

But the DS is getting bigger screen everytime.

    I think it's pointless
