    Who knows or thinks the NGP might be able to emulate PS2? Maybe even the Gamecube?

    No, he means PS2. NGP is the name for the PSP2. He is wondering if the PSP2 will be able to emulate the PS2, similar to how the PSP can emulate the PS1.

    The psp2 aka ngp would be able to, it's nearly a portable ps3...

    That said, they'd have to ethier get it hacked, or better yet considering how long that'd take, for sony to re-release more ps2 classics.

    If the PSP2 is powerful enough to emulate PS2 games, I'm sure Sony will offer PS2 Classics on the PSN for playing on the PSP2. There was talk of them developing a method to emulate PS2 games on the PS3 hardware that didn't involve the costly Software and Hardware emulation methods of the older PS3s. They may have, or may in the future, adapt this to run PS2 games on the PSP2. It would be easy money for Sony/Developers, since the games already exist, etc. Like the PSP with PSOne Classics, the PSP2 may recieve it as an update to a later firmware.

    Well there was talk of an external add on which if done right could net them a profit of each unti alone...

    Or they will continue making HD remasters of chosen games, waiting on metal gear triology....

    You got it wrong, get over it.
    They are calling it the NGP (PSP2) until they get a better name just like project dolphin for the gamecube.

    Yes it will be able to easily emulate the ps2 and Gamecube would work but controls might be a problem.

    psp2=ngp

    Fan name=psp2

    The prototype name/possible final name=ngp

    It doesnt even matter, why get picky on a bloody unfinalized name :p

    If PS2 ISOs are playable, won't space be a problem? PS2 ISOs are about 4GBs. Most peoples memory sticks are 1-2GBs.

    compression
    problem solved

    I was thinking the same, but even compressed they will still be large. Just take a look at PSP CSOs. Even when compressed, they are only about 20% smaller. Unless things are ripped however.

    Won't be an issue, since SDXC is capable of Terabytes of data, and currently you can get 32+GB cards.

    Cannot wait. The PS 2 has such an awesome collection of games. FF X and XII, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, Dirge of Cerberus, Persona 4.... and more.
