New to DS world

Hi everybody,

Im a noob to the DS world, Im kind of an Elite when it comes to psp hacking and stuff but dont know a thing about DS. I just bought my first DS Lite yesterday and am waiting for my R4 to arrive. Cant wait! Buy the way i have one question. Is there anything like a firmware on the DS that is similar to the psp, do i need to make updates and is there any restriction for my R4, for example not being able to use it if i have a certain model of DS or a certain firware on it or anything like that. The DS Lite is older than the DSi and doesn't update or have any ways to block flashcarts, however it is less powerfull and doesn't have DSiWare.

Also nearly all R4's are clones and the originals are outdated (no SDHC support) as well as it will encounter problems with Anti-Piracy.

The M3i upgrades automaticly if you plug it in. Also if there;s is an upgrade for the DSi you can't got to the DSiWARE till you updated your DSi firmware (that block's the flashcard till there is new firware for your flashcrad)

Oh.... you have an DSlite not a DSi :-(

thanks for the welcome sexy, and to everyone else too, thanks for your answers, I have other questions. What are the new stuff on the dsi compared to ds lite, as i said i dont know a thing about ds, i've always had playstations but i wanted a ds because im a fan of final fantasy and wanted to try out the ones on ds. I wasnt sure if id love it so i started with a used lite just to be sure. Also is there anything i can do with my lite like putting emulator or homebrew like a psp or go to the web (with the R4 i mean cause i checked without it and theres like NOTHING to do with it). Thanks for your help as you can see, im a newb lol ;D
