New super mario bros question (DS)

    I love New super mario bros. But does anyone know how you save your progress?

    I go onto the quit screen and it just says that all progress will be lost and then the next time I play the game I'm back at the beginning again.

    Does anyone know how I can fix this?

    You can only save after you destroy a tower/castle.

    or use cheat that lets you save anytime
