I need a new PC, but I don't have very much money, so I looked around on Newegg and saw this:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883108258

would it be worth it to buy this... I intend to use it for school, maybe some games, and watch movies... what do you guys think?

I know that it has 1/2 the processing power of the first one but also considering this:

I would go with the top one..Get the one with the atom processor and your screwed..

    http://www.overstock.com/Electronics/IBM-ThinkPad-T60-Core-Duo-1.83Ghz-1G-60GB-XP-Pro-Laptop-Refurbished/4568760/product.html

I would get this, IF you have the extra money lying around for this..

Firstly do you trust the site.

Secondly, the picture seems to have a floppy drive but it is not mentioned in the spec. Also Its got a small HDD and low RAM???

    Cheap computer on amazon:
    http://www.amazon.com/Acer-AspireRevo-AR1600-U910H-Desktop-Windows/dp/B002O3W44Q/ref=pd_ts_zgc_pc_565098_1?ie=UTF8&s=pc&pf_rd_p=467722371&pf_rd_s=right-4&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=565098&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1AXPXERJ8ZMZHMSVXZTQ

Same Price. I would put more just there is no view by price.

Its new too, however it may not be good for hardcore gaming

Like I said, before, the atom processor, you can hardly game AT ALL with that. Even if it is like Pre 2004 games.

    EDIT:

And Newegg and Overstock are legit websites.

Malino's link is definitely legit, and the IBM you linked to is 20x better for anything than the Acer, though overall I'd be with Malino and get the laptop (If nothing else you can take your work to school with you and do it there)

Matty has no idea what he's on about...

ok, I think I'll go with the IBM desktop PC

there are PC's I can use at school if I need them, and I have a flash drive that I can use to take my work with me

Sounds good, and remember this for future refference..Never get an atom processor..EVER. Unless all you want to do..is use Word..and maybe browse the internet.

They're good for low-power file servers, download servers and typewriters... which is why you should keep well-clear

after reading a little more about the Atom processor PC's, the only server i think they could be good for is a ventrilo server or something of that nature...

they'd serve static files perfectly fine as a webserver, and would probably do well as an email server
