Lets hear some good ideas for some new items and what they do in smash bros games!!! I'd say maybe the Ocarina of time, maybe teleporting the user to an area where there isnt much going on
You know that bucket from (...I think the game was "Mario vs Wario"...) that was a trophy in Melee? They could add that as an item, making whoever's head it is covering move erratically when the player tries to move them.
actually iv been following what they are going to release in the new game "super smash bros. brawl" it so awesome anyway if you want to see all these things and what the new characters are go to http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/index.html they tell you a new thing about the game every weekday. PS Sonic the hedgehog WILL be a playable character!!! ;D
This game had me sold the second it introduced Fire Emblem playable characters, as well as a support trophy of a certain Fire Emblem character... I'll be happy as long as they keep in things like the bunny ear hood and whatnot, maybe add in a better looking beamsword.

Obviously a snake for him to eat. Also there will be an item that will allow for a characters super smash attack or whatever its called.
A Black Hole capsule: Throw it to anyone and they will be sucked over it but they get stuck and cannot move!
There needs to be the bomb from Kirby. Picking it up gives you the crash attack and you do 50% damage to everyone on the field and anyone over 75% damage is auto-killed.
