New Chrono Cross rom freeze?

    I'm running EpSXE160, and I jsut downloaded the Chrono Cross rom from this site.
    The opening cinematic plays (Which is LOVELY by the way) and The main screen comes up fine. It prompts you to press start, when you do it brings you to a very basic menu that says

    " NEw game"

    or

    "continue"

    whenever I try to start a new game, it makes the little OKAY click sound and blacks.
    Then nothing.

    Is there something wrong with the rom? Is anyone else having this problem?

    Hello there,

    I had the same problem too but maybe you can try using an older version of Epsxe. version 152 I would recommend. it should work. :)

    Or use the new ePSXe 1.7, but many people have run Chrono Cross fine on 1.52.

    my rule of thumb is square games usually run great on 1.5.2

    and some of them are completely fixed on 1.7.

    1.6 is a waste and only useful for some games.
