Recently I decided to update the firmware for my router and mid-update my computer decided that it was going to restart.

So obviously I have a problem.
I have tried just to set it up, finds the internet connection from my modem but it has trouble pushing the internet through to my PC.

I have tried pinging the router directly and it's not detected. So I cant get access to it so I can try the update again.
All the necessary lights turn on including a flashing green check mark which means the firmware update is in the works.

So I'm trying to figure out...
Is it possible to update the firmware again? Or is it fried/bricked?

I have contacted Netgear by the way. I'm just waiting for their responses.

    I'm guessing that it's bricked.

They responded and advised me to reset the modem.

    a. Press the reset button for a total of 60 seconds.

    b. While the reset button is pressed, in the first 20 seconds, plug in the power cable to the router, for the next 20 seconds unplug the power cable, for the last 20 seconds once again plug in the power cable to the router.

NOTE: You need to press the reset button for the entire 60 seconds and do not let the button go while the above procedures are undertaken.

Kinda rediculous didn't work. I'm going to give them a call and see if it is fixable. :(

Edit: So yeah its a brick, ...with lights.
They are sending me a replacement though, I just have to pay $7 for shipping.

Until then no online Mario Kart or Brawl for me. Oh wells
