No experience, I think they're moderate for work. But not for free time-laptop. If I was you, I should wait to get a real laptop. They're good to carry around though... If you're buying one, check this out for the best. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_netbooks
I'm considering the Asus Eee 900. I read that it runs BackTrack 3 correctly, and is commonly used for doing that.
I'm also considering the EEE 900. It's very affordable and practical if I want a device to type/surf the net/listen to music. Plus, it runs Linux quite well.
I've had an Asus eee 701 since January. They are great if you want something for "casual computing" in a very small, portable package: web browsing, email, note-taking, etc. They are the size of a large paperback novel and only weigh a pound or so, so obviously they are a lot more convenient for people on the go. On the other hand, the screen and keyboards are cramped. If you regularly type long documents (ie. more than a page in length) or work on spreadsheets, etc. you are better off with a larger laptop. Also the netbooks will not have the horsepower for high-end emulation. I find my 701 is fine for emulating up to 16 bit; anything after that is just too demanding and bogs down on my little machine.
i was thanking about getting one but the screens are to small for my likeing, some of those netbooks are 4 and 6 hundred dollors you could get a biger laptop for that much money,
In Europe, they're way cheaper... only 200 euros... And you'll get used to the screen... I think.. Only hard to get some good wallpapers, I gues..
