.net frameworks issues

    Ok, i've got .net frameworks 3.5 installed.

    Im trying to install a program that requires .net frameworks 1.1

    It refuses to install since frameworks 1.1 isn't installed. I have the newer 3.5 version installed so what is causing this problem? Also, the 3.5 install wasn't a upgrade it was a install from a redist package.

    Reformat.
    Install Linux.

    that wont help, you cant use .net in linux.

    .net frameworks are NOT backwards compatible, you need every version.
