Hey, I'm new and need some help. Anyone out there who can help, please do.
I downloaded Chrono Cross the other day, and I can't play it.
I've already ran over plenty of searches for any and all problems with it and I've been reading some messages and boards so now
I guess it's because Rom's are supposed to be played on consoles, if this is true is it an emulator I'm looking for? I'm trying to get it to play on my computer, and I've got like and estimated 600 games, so... I know it's possible. Please help. I'll try to reward you if I ever figure out how, but don't be counting on it. PLEASE HELP!!! I spent over 400 points on it and i just have to know.

Ok, so I gather you are wanting to play it on a PS1 emulator on your PC? to do that head over here:
    http://www.ngemu.com/psx/epsxe.php?action=download
Download the emulator. You will then need the BIOS files. It will tell you which ones you need. All you have to do is google them and you will find them too. Follow the emulator instructions and you should get it working. Any other questions post again. I have played Chrono Cross on a PC emulator and it works fine for me. I got really far into it, so I know for a fact it works.

If you want to play it on a PS1 you need to have a modded PS1 or PS2 and burn the image file onto a blank CD!

EDIT: when I say PC emulator I mean a PS1 emulator on my PC.

THANK YOU!! Let Me know if you ever need anything, I'll do my best to get it, remember I have over 600 games, their emulators of course (didn't know that) but there for the older games like ff1-ff6 so if anything just ask, I'll try my best.

He, He, yeah about that "enjoy" part. I've downloaded it like nine times, and it's the same error. Cannot find d3dx9_26. I understand that downloading it again should have helped it but that doesn't seem to be the case...Should I just give up? It seems to be more trouble then it's worth.

Are you using the emulator I directed you to? Do you have the BIOS file (think it was called zlib1.dll)? It must be placed in the BIOS folder of the emulator.

From what I know however, and this is more of a shot in the dark than anything, d3dx9_26 is a system32 file for windows pertaining to direct X. I could be wrong, but if you are missing it, its a fault with your operating system. You might have to find a copy of that file online and replace it in your system folders. I could be totally wrong though so best thing to do is google it and look around. Maybe ask someone else here in the forums. Create a new topic with d3dx9_26.dll thats what I would suggest. Sorry I couldn't help but have never had never seen a problem like that in the past.

that is not the bios file, it is a library. The bios file is called SCPH1001.bin

Correct, although the fact that it is missing is not necessarily a fault, not all files get installed. Search for the file on www.dll-files.com and extract it from the zip into c:\windows\system32 and you should be good to go.
