I have just downloaded Xilisoft (full version) and I can't seem to import any of my movies which are all .MDS files can anyone help me out here, or direct me to a program that can? Basically I want to convert my .MDS files to .avi. Any help would be much appreaciated thanks.
Is there a .mdf file with that .mds file? At the moment that is a disk image and not a video file. You need to get those video files out of the disk image, I don't know the best way of doing this, except burning the disk image to a disc, and than ripping the video files from inside the disc to the PC.
No I can't see one all that there is in the movie folder is eg. The movie is called Wanted, so in the containing folder it has files like: Wanted.I00 Wanted.I01 Wanted.MDS when i search for them using Xilisoft nothin comes up. It must not recognise it...
That explains alot. That is your reason. Get a program called DVD decrypter, you'll notice that will look very similar to IMGburn. When you rip DVD movies from DVD decrypter you'll get a few .vob files which will be the movie. Than you can convert those .vob video files into .avi with Xillisoft I hope that helps.
The .mds file contains metadata of the original file or media. The .I00 and .I01 are formats of a split image.
