need help with the new r4 firmwere

    hi guys, i was wondering if any can give me a step by step guide on how to install the new firmere that help me to play ffs ring of fates.please help. ;D

    Also make sure you disable cheats, nothing can change any part of the game since it will detect it.

    ps:i'm really noob on technical stuff so please dont use too many weird words

    Download the Kernel from http://www.r4ds.com

    Extract the folder from the rar file

    Open the folder

    Press ctrl+a

    Drag to MicroSD folder

    Safely Remove Device

    Remove Micro Sd reader

    Put Micro Sd in flash cart

    Put Flash cart in slot 1

    Turn on DS

    You know, I'm happy that another person answered this question with the actual answer, since I've looked over the tutorial section in full about 3 times, and haven't found a SINGLE tutorial that answers the firmware question. Let's just hope all this work....

    On another note, is there a way I can change my R4 DS language to English without technically converting it to a M3? I haven't found any other tutorials (on any site) that help in this matter. It's not imperative (I speak/read a little bit of Chinese), but it would be more helpful to have it in English.

    You won't be able to change it yourself, you have to download the english firmware.

    okay guys,all of this is helping but..
    what if my r4 is allready had the old version?
    should i delete all the files in my sd?
    even the scary looking system files?

    Just download the latest firmware from http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/, extract it, go into the english etc. folder, take all of the files in there and overwrite your previous firmware files on your MicroSD. Extremely safe to do.
