ya i downloaded it but it wontwork do ihave to dl everything or only a few thing

No. All you need to do is download the ROMs that MAME support. Read the MAME Documentation http://mamedev.org/devwiki/index.php/Main_Page

No. Just the Frontend, and the ROMs, and then put the ROMS in the right folder. Please learn to have a go yourself first before you ask again.
