Need help with Geometry Wars not working on DS-X

For some reason I can't get Geometry Wars to work correctly on my DS-X.

I've tried it with and without the ARM7 injection and either way, when I start up the game, all I get is crazy mixed up graphics. It seems like the game is actually working because the sound works and you can actually click through things if you just try hitting buttons, but the graphics are all screwy and mixed around to where the game is unplayable.

My girlfriend has an R4 and GW works just fine on it.

Any suggestions?

 

Yes, although thanks to the DS-X team being nearly worthless, that firmware is from back in June
