    I would like to determine whether the problem is my computer or my configuration.

    The listed specs for the emulator are as follows

    * System requirements:
    * GFX: Radeon 9500+ series card recommended, but Geforce FX series also work. Expect severe graphics problems with lower cards.
    * CPU: The fastest you can find.
    * RAM: 256MB or higher strongly recommended.
    * Audio: Any Windows/DirectX-compatible soundcard.

    This is what Im running
    Celeron D @ 3.2 Ghz
    1.5 GB of RAM
    Nvidia GeForce 6800 GT (256 MB of Video RAM)
    Integrated Sound (I have a creative card lying around, will this help?)

    Anyway the problems I get are when I play SSBM or Mario Sunshine they run at a quarter of the full speed. The textures and everything else seem flawless. I havent tried any other games yet.

    Is there any kind of plugins or configurations that would help this run at an acceptable speed? Or am I doomed till I build a new rig?

    Celeron is the worst you can get :$
    at least that's what i always hear from everybody....
    it's probably the celeron part... :$

    and i can see that you're using a laptop, (because of the GT part in your videocard) not every laptop is strong enough...

    a celeron + 6800 geforce is just not gonna cut it... ( in my opinion)

    Celeron....?

    I have tried it.. but It DIDN'T run any games at all....
    ;D

    So, what I do is upgrade it. ;D
    Something like Dual-Core is your best bet.

    Yeah, I thought so. Eventually I would have been building a new computer anyway.

    I guess I'll just have to wait for then.

    the stronger it is the better.
