Need Help Regarding R4i platinum?

    Hi,I just got two R4i Platinums from a friend (the blue ones) and I was wondering if they would work with the new pokemon games? I've searching for over 2 hours and I need to know a couple things as well:
    Is the R4i Platinum considered a clone?
    What firmware what I download to be able to use the latest game (eg pokemon black)?
