When I was very young I played this game on the PS1 that I adored. The details are fuzzy, but I'm fairly sure it was a JRPG with the main plot focused around dragons. I think it started off with a dragon burning your hometown or something and a guy gives you a sword as he's dying... I know at some point there are these catacombs you go into with skeletons and all that lark, and there's also a bit where you've got to fight a 'thunder dragon.' I just can't remember it too well, but I remember loving it. It might not hold up as well today, but I want to give it a go anyway and download it to my PSP. Any ideas?

The Game's Arc the Lad III. The description of a burning town & a gallant warrior who saves you handing you his old sword was an easy clincher.
No, if the game wasn't released outside Japan until 2002 it can't be it; I played it in the late 90s.
