Give the model number from your router/hub and we can try to guide you through the setup of the WEP settings to get your DS to connect.

Its made by a company called D-Link and the closest thing I could find ton a model number is 'DSL-2640S VER. A1 WIERLESS G ADSL2+ ROUTER' I hope this helps.
It's the basic sky broadband router that they send you.
If you need the Mac code or serial number just ask.
    Thanks for helping :)
I've been trying to get my dsi working on my different routers for a long time now and I'm getting sick of it.

DSL-2640S would seem to be the model.

I'm trying to find the manual for this particular model, I think the web configuration page is at 192.168.0.1 for this model. I'm not 100% certain on this Sky thing... I keep reading stuff about it, appears to be a ISP, but they are pretty particular about their equipment setup. I don't want to have you change something and screw it up, so I'm going to read into it a bit.

This, but if it has the same page as my d-link router, it weill be under wireless settings. no clue if your isp wants you to change things though

changing the wireless settings will not affect the ISP in any way.

Oh I found this tutorial for my router and it seems o have worked, thanks for your help anyway guys :)
I had to click this link then type in admin for the username and sky for password, then I just changed my settings to wep and I think it's working fine.
Yeah this router is made by D-Link but it's for sky so it's not like any common ones out there or any ones that nintendo list on there website.
I will let you know if there is any problems, for now tho it works fine, anyone wanna play pokemon or something? :)

I mainly didn't want to have the user stumble into something deeper (since all the settings are there) and then void any service this Sky company would perform on their equipment since the user was in there playing around.

ahh right fair enough,I just don't understand why nintendo don't let all security settings play online?

no idea, as I've said before it was an extremely stupid decision on their part. they are effectively forcing people to use WEP when the wifi alliance are trying to get rid of it because it is so horribly insecure. Nintendo could easily release a firmware update for the radio that would add WPA (not WPA2) support, yet they still don't.
