From a few random post, looking around...I'm wondering, and now I ask the mods/admins...

Can we still necro post/resurrect a topic provided we post something relevant to it?

In some cases back in the past before the recent changes (could be months back though), I saw mods (forgot who and what topics) being locked despite the newer post were indeed on topic .

Just making sure so I can post links to some threads of use :)

And to use your answers here incase relevant post to a resurrected topic cause it to be locked.

personally I would view it case by case, if its relevant and useful information on a useful (i.e not in games/jokes, intro etc section) thread then I'd probably allow it

And what about the games/jokes sections?

Some forum games are being repeated or some "random" topics (ie post a pic of yourself-was once part of this section) could be resurrected?

in that case yes, resurrecting the old is preferable to starting a new one.

Ah, why thank you, now I can post links to said topics and keep things neat :)

The keyword is substantial. You have to provide something that actually contributes something. Reiterating a previous argument or saying something like "I agree" is not substantial enough to warrant a resurrection of the discussion.

Good ole Seph with the "Final Word"
Seph is like Jerry Springer and the RU community is a dis-functional family barely being kept in-line.
Completely off-topic i know... but i wanted to say it. :)

I do attempt avoiding "I agree" despite the fact that I do post that...but I wouldn't necro post just for that (only on active topics that have little chance of death).

Mostly though, if I see a cloned topic I'd give them a link and we'd go from there.

If you posted that on a dead thread you'd kill it for good, but thanks for posting :)
