This is my first post here. I want to ask about my NDSL's problem. My NDSL got turned off by itself while I was playing a game. Even its battery was fully-charged. What is the solution? I never feel comfort in playing a game because of that. I bought NDSL in 2007. Do I need to buy a new battery? Thanks before.

It may be possible-that happened to me.

Make sure when you charge that it's not interuppted (can play while charging-but don't unplug until it's done-lights go out) and when done do unplug it-while it's not meant to it can overcharge-draining power and life from battery.

Also-a big mistake everyone makes-with a fresh ds-charge it all the way BEFORE starting it up-playing while charging a new ds can reuce the life span.

And don't charge with half a battery unless a long trip is planned-the ds can be recharged approx 500 times before it wears down slowly.

And BIG TIP-always buy an official nintendo battery as replacement-anything else cannot be trusted-even if it claims longer lasting.

Thanks for your answer. But I'm sure my battery is official nintendo battery. And I never plays it while it is being charged. So, do I need to buy a new battery? ???

I think he meant If you do buy a new battery, make sure it's official nintendo.

    Correct.

    Prehaps something has happened.

Try this as a test-charge it until the light dies again-straight play.

Time how long until it dies-play a 3-D type game like super mario 64 DS to give it a good workout.

If it last less than 5 hours-get a new one-that's unbearable.

I can't determin what may have happened-but prehaps heat (hot nights) or just lack of use (if left sitting around without use the battery drains and may reduce charge).

Actually, Lithium-Ion batteries (which the NDSL uses) retain their battery life best when they are charged while they are at 40-60% capacity.

But they have about 500 total charges before they charge less.

At those your wasting a charge I reckon.

Not in the mood to read-but I understand what your saying.

What I said is what is suggested for mobile phones-they say DRAIN the battery then charge.

I'd start charging when it's on red-any earlier and I personally see it as a waste of power.

Now from experience-no idea how to explain-but because I constantly went to game events I chaged my ds everyday regardless of the charge level.

I had to replace the battery for it-it was a black ds lite.

And yet-my old dsphat's battery which always waiting until red light-lasted far longer.

And that thing was a work hourse-infact now I use it more than ever because my brother now has the light-and it's not the dslite's fault-that's what the idiots at a gameshop said when i complaind over a 3rd party battery that wouldn't even charge or let thr system start even when plugged in.
