[NDS] Shin Megami Tensei - Devil Survivor 2 (U) "Data Access failure"

Hello Romulation,
I read the rules for posting in technical support, and I hope that I'm not infringing any rules in posting this, but I apologize if I do.
Recently, I picked up my old R4 (not SDHC, not fake) and deceided I would play give the new SMT game a go. Fully expecting there would be some form of anti-piracy, I was presented with an error screen AFTER the ROM had loaded, AFTER the logos were presented but BEFORE the title screen.

The error screen read:
"Data access failure.
Turn the power OFF and
reinsert the Game Card."

As I always did to bypass the A-P, I did a few google searches looking for patches, but after some more extensive searches, reading, and trying some of the patches (Dicastia, for one), I couldn't fix the problem. The interesting part was that there were barely any results on this error, instead more errors focused on the other A-P that made a certain battle unplayable. Because of this, I'm not even entirely convinced that this is a form of A-P.

If anyone could help point out what might be the issue or what I have failed to do, it would be much appreciated, thank you.

 

Erase your .sav, make sure you have space on the micro SD so the game can make a .sav file, get a pre patched rom from here, update ysmenu to the latest avaible version

I've tried erasing the .sav and the micro SD definitely has enough room to make the .sav file.
I have not tried the ysmenu update, as I believe my R4 is still on an R4 wood menu of some form.
Would the ysmenu change really make that huge of a difference?

The original firmware was dead long ago.

YSMenu R4 v6062 / for R4 originals only.

1. Backup MicroSD content
2. Format
3. Extract files from rar arcive onto the root of microSD
4. Place Games and Saves in NDS Games folder
5. Are maybe you could try it on a Spare MicroSD card

With ysmenu updates use clean ROM only

The error is gone, and with all luck I won't run into the other anti-piracy.
Just in time for my vacation too, leaving for the airport in a few hours, really saved me in the nick of time!

I have R4 1.18 with a WoodR4.nds

I can boot the game up but i encounter the same problem

I don't understand any procedures or what to do from the links given above

please help me, I really want to play this game
