A game for the DS that would only exclusively work for it...., unless you flipped your T.V. sideways.

This is the fast paced action game for me, if you like ninja gaiden previous games, you'll need to get this one. As usual you Ryu Hyabusa, trying to save the world again with your dragon sword and attack techniques. To play this game you gonna have to flip your DS sideways, no straps so it can get uncomfortable holding with your wrist bent ,but trust me, it's worth it. Ninja Gaiden introduces one new characters who is Momiji. The most basic storyline is:
Momiji is captured and Ryu Hyabusa takes on the role of the hero ninja and sets off on a quest that involves lots of fiends......again.

Almost everything takes place on the the touch screen, from the fighting and talking to the acrobatic techniques and getting items, and that said, everything you need to do is uses your stylus, so this is the one of the rare games that can rival Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the usage of the stylus. The DSs top screen is only used for the map of the area your in and the graphic and sound effect stunning cutscenes. The only time you have to touch a button is to block with the D-pad or open the menu with start.

The controls are relatively easy to learn. To slash through you enemy you quickly draw a line through it. To jump flick you stylus upwards and to run hold the stylus is the position you want to go to. There are the regular ninja moves like tapping of a foe will let you throw shruikens or shoot your bow, while if you double jump the flick your stylus down you'll do a wide ranged attack. There also also the ninpo magic to think of. When you activate one like fireball your screen changes and shows you a symbol. To use it you have to trace the symbol then you can unleash you fury on the nearbye fiends. Although in the later levels the enemies can be smarter and if you choose the wrong move....

The cutscenes are fantastic, with nice and graphics, the little voice acting there is, is superb and the sound effects are great to. The graphics overall for the game are pretty good. The faced paced action can be a little distorted at times but it's still very good, I realised that the backrounds are 2D while the characters and items are 3D, that helps with the graphics a bit.. The music in the game is good with a wide variety of diffrent types, not much voice acting but the sword and all the other sound effects are great.

In the game there are three diffrent modes each you have to unlock to play in. And believe me when it says hard, it means HARD. One of the problems is the actual hardness of the game. Although most creatures are O. K. - Easy difficulties, but the bosses are uber hard. Even on easy they are pretty hard. Like the first boss, you are supposed to die, and you do, but you battle the same boss later on and your supposed to beat it. Yes you probably got way better on handling the controls but it's still hard.
This game takes about 8-9 1/2 hours to complete although more experienced players of Ninja Gaiden may beat it quicker. Although once your done there are unlockables and secrets to find out. Also the rest of the difficulties and Wi-Fi which lets go online to compare Karma (which you get by pulling of skillful moves) scores with others. But you'll probably want to return to the game since the gameplay is good.

Presentation-9- Great use if touch screen, easily learned controls even if your used to consols and clear functions, that's what makes this a nine pointer

Graphics-9- The 3D on 2D helped and with the stunning cutscenes makes this great. Although that's my choice....

Sound-9- Pretty good music with a wide variety. The tiny bit of voice acting there is is great and the sound effects are good to.

Gameplay-8- Like Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass almost all touch screen which can be tiring but is great for action and linking attacks. This game is good in action, and is almost totally action, hmmm, coincidence?

Lasting Appeal- 7.5- Although you'll beat it quick in easy, there's still the HARD level and the secrets and Wi-Fi.

Overall-42.5- Makes great use of the DS and is good for the next Ninja Gaiden.

Final Comments- Ninja Gaiden : Stylus Sword DS. Can you believe this took me three days to complete?!?

Yah another short one. I'll make a long one once a game that REALLY catches my eye comes around

you know the secret to the hard difficulty is just to double jump and attack downwards.

you just keep doing that and you can't be touched.
