Hi folks, today i'm gonna write my first review! ~-------------------Metal Slug 7-------------------~ It's another one, Metal Slug! The seventh in the series already, time for a review! For those who don't now what metal slug is, it's like MapleStory except for it's not an MMORPG, it's an Shoot 'em up. You have a choice allong 6 characters: Ralf, Marco, Eri, Clark, Fio and Tarma. All those characters have different skills, Marco is a All-rounder, Tarma is a pro in vehicles, Eri is good with explosives, such as grenades, Clark is a master in throwing, Ralf is a close quarters pro and very fast and Fio carries the most ammo. The goal is to destroy the evil army, those army has a lot of men, but also strong vehicles, such as tanks, artillery, helicopters and planes. You will most of the time walk on the ground. But along the game you will find different vehicles, such as a big robot, an airplane, a tank and a mine cart. All have different weapons but the all will have the same machine gun as a standerd weapon. Your character can find different weapons too, you can obtain them by freeding prisoners, you will find those across the game. This was the standard info, next are points! - Menu - Good menu, nice pictures, easy to find your way through it. 9/10 - Gameplay - Nice and cool gameplay, the same in the whole series though, but still great! 9/10 - Graphics - Still has the same 2D graphics, but that is just what makes the game so cool, weapons and vehicles look great, bosses are awesome. 8/10 - Longer playtime - Not so good to play a long time, will be fun for around a week but then it will become boring. 6/10 - Sound - Cool sounds, guns could be louder. 7/10 - Overall - I will say overall 8,5/10 Now for some screenshots: Hope you liked my first review
Cool review but I thought it was Japanese ??? Does RomU have a {u} one already or can you read Japanese?
are you from somewhere not in the US? do you use , for decimals? I remember my spanish where we used , instead of . for decimals. anyway, as far as length, my rule of thumb is if it is over 2 pages (in MS word, not double spaced, no blank lines) then you are good on length. having too many screenshots may make your review look smaller. use them sparingly when putting them between bodies of text, and putting them at the end is also a good way to do it. (like you did).
Wow looks like i will be getting this then! i was wanting it before but i will have to go get it NOW!
The graphics IMO do not deserve a 8/10, since they're the same sprites and background layout from 1996, and the it is scaled down so much that it doesn't look as good as any others from the series.
Good review, I thought. The game itself is awesome! It's like those old arcade games we all used to play! !
Classic arcade platform shooter. Though the graphics may be outdated, this game probably wouldn't benefit much from better graphics anyways. The variety between selectable characters are a plus, but why Playmore didn't take advantage of the DS multiplayer capabilities is beyond me. My own taken would be about a 6.5-7/10. The replay value is significantly undermined by the lack of a multiplayer option. Good review by waylonn. Reading it got me to try it out.
