Okay, here is what TirithRR said minutes ago: Do you mean just getting a copy of the ROM online? That's easy. Or taking the data from the actual cartridge? How do you DO that? Is it something you can do with the CycloDS or something?
Taking data from the actual cartridge. Creating a backup of games you own yourself, without using any websites. https://www.romulation.org/forum/index.php?topic=25180.msg406842#msg406842
That will take forever for a Pokemon game, Kingdom Hearts, or Final Fantasy!!! 0.875MB/Minute... seems like a while. Oh well, patience is a virtue.
It does take forever to do it using wireless. Took me about 3 and a half hours to backup a 128MB game. The DS was only transfering at about 8-12Kb/s But it only takes about 20 minutes for a 128MB file if you are using the 3 in 1 expansion card. By the way, I wish I had done it using the 3 in 1... I have one but thought it wouldn't work for games larger than 32mb. Seems that you just swap out and run again, and it continues from your last point.
But you have to have a CycloDS, but I may figure out how to do it with an Acekard. Here is where mds should come in and test it for me. ;D Just kiddin. Anyways, do you need a CycloDS?
I don't think you have to have the CycloDS to use it. I think that's just what the writer wrote down, since it's a website that seems to focus on the CycloDS. I'm about 70% sure it would work on other cards as well.
So either it works, or the homebrew doesn't run... takes a few minutes to try. Not like you can wreck anything, perfectly harmless.
It's a homebrew application, it is not specific for the Cyclo. It also lists the R4 as well for an example.
