nds firmware

    i was trying to find out the firmware of my ds but when i took the nds card out the screens did not change color pictochat just froze, dos that mean i have firmware v1? and if so will it run with r4 good? (note: i have ds not ds lite)

    R4 and basically every other flashcart will run on your DS or DS Lite regardless of it's firmware version. I have a DS Lite with firmware v5, as it turns pink when I take a NDS cart out. You have firmware version 1, as your NDS just freezes or hangs.
