NDS - Classic or Lite?

Even though i own a ds lite and not a classic ds, in my opinion the classic is better because its more hardy. I mean I don't know what Nintendo was thinking when they made the lite because i have never seen something that could break so easily out of any handheld console. The only reason I bought a lite instead of a classic was because i liked how it looked and I figured that newer was better (which I was apparently wrong in this case), What do you think? ???

i like my DS Classic better. like you said, it's more rugged and suited to "tanking" damage xD
seriously, i don't know how many times my DS has fallen out of my shallow pockets, hitting the ground... on top of that the DS Lite's buttons feels unnatural and harder to use, maybe that's just me though

the only thing bad about the Classic is that there's virtually no support for it left. all of the shops where i live, "real" (like wal-mart, future shop, etc...) or "not real" (ie. places that carry flashcards) have abandoned all accessories for the old system. but there's always EBay for that ;D

when i bought my DS i got the last one the store had as well

I actually prefer the DS Lite. It's lighter, brighter, and it isn't the size of a minivan... also, the original DS's hinge is 10X's more fragile than the DS Lite's

I prefer the DS Lite mainly because of the screen brightness. I actually had one of each and I traded the classic one in towards another DS Lite, as the classic one that I bought about a week after it released, had started to freeze up and shutting off at random times even with playing retail games. So I figured it was about to give up the ghost so I traded it off before it did.

i choose ds lite even though i own a classic(although, class is less likely to cause my hands to hurt)
it's more compact, smaller, and it's shiny

i just like the shape is all i'm saying :p
if only it had the DSi's GUI...

Don't worry, you haven't done anything wrong. I think it's just your choice of words :)

On topic; IMO, the NDS Lite is better. It's the only type of DS I've owned but I've played on a few Classic ones. I hated them, too big and bulky for my tiny hands :D but if your looking for something sturdy go for the classic. Although I've had my NDS Lite for almost 2 or 3 years, The screen has just only recently started to stuff up, something to do with hinge I think.

Trade you guys my mint phat DS for a lite. ^^ I bought mine on launch, & it's in perfect condition, not a single scratch on the case or screens - have the box with the Metroid Prime Hunters demo & all. I think the original was just too heavy & big, especially for weaklings like me. lol

DS lite as you don't get stuck in building when playing zelda. :p

The DSLite has much better button placement - I often turned my DSPhat off by mistake cause the button is like right there.

The DSLite has better screen brightness control - my Cyclo cart can modify the brightness in the lite but not the phat

The DSLite has a better main hinge - the Phat's broke after minimal usage

Don't get me wrong (or do if you want to) I think Classics have a niche all to themselves just by being first. On the other hand, Delaware was the 1st state; things got better after that......:)

I guess that's kinda like the original Gameboy being awesome because of it's nostalgia, but when given the choice between one and a GBA SP, you know which on you'd choose

off topic: I heard that a GBA SP is so hardy it can get run over by a lawnmower multiple times and still work perfectly fine afterwards?

Don't know about that, but I've had mine for years and my brother tipped chocolate milk all over it, I panicked and wiped it all off and it still worked without any problems :D It still works now xD

ARe yo guys kidding? The DS classic breaks way easier then DS lite! Its not hardy, Just bulky!

Lite has brightness, STRONGER, More compact, Better colours, Nicer feel.

    DS Classic has....nothing

Agreed...If I want more protection, then I'll just buy the accessory.
And I've seen the phat myself... it doesn't fit in my pocket...

I say the DS lite has more advatage than DS phat.
