    Okay, some people on GBATemp were saying that a fan-translation of Nanashi no Game was impossible.......

    Is it really impossible to translate Nanashi no Game?

    Imagine translating the 7th Harry potter book from Japanese to English.

    That's off topic.

    I was talking about something about Nanashi no Game making translation impossible, but not language-related problems. I believe I heard that the files holding all the text in the game are so hidden/embedded that they're impossible to find...?

    If I remember correctly:

    The game is hard to translate because it doesn't use normal text files.
    Remember, you're holding the DS sideways.

    Hackers don't know what to do with the text files,
    and it's not worth the effort to find out.

    Note that I'm not saying it's a bad game;
    It's just that I can see why hackers won't try to hack this game.

    Think about the DSi. Is it worth hacking? Of course it is; it's got quite a few nice games.
    However, is it worth the effort? No, because it'd take a shitload of time and you'd get nothing more than ~10 nice games.

    I hope this helped explain things!

    ....It's because the text files are sideways?! God forbid! I mean, if it's a good game and it won't be seeing a US release, then why not?

    It might be; that's just my guess, though.

    *Wants US release*
