I got kinda bored so I downloaded Ocarina of Time, but when I extracted the file there was an Ocarina of Time - Master Quest along with it. What is that? Is it an add on or a kinda sequel? If not, which of the two (the original Ocarina of Time & Master Quest) is better?

Master Quest is an unreleased remake of OOT. The dungeons have been changed around and made a lot harder among other changes. It was released for gamecube as a bonus with some copies of wind waker.

Thanks loony, no wonder the file had a "GC" on the title :)

Might I add, MQ was a lot easier - not harder - than the original game. I think you'll notice that, even though a lot of people said MQ was harder.

    its not unreleased.

originally you got it as a bonus disc if you pre ordered windwaker.

so technically, it was released, just not as a retail title.

and i find it harder because i was so used to the old way of solving the dungeons.
then i get into it and they moved everything around.

that's like coming home one day and all of your furniture is in a different spot.

It was originally an N64 title, and was not released.

actually it comes as a gamecube disc just like the collector's edition that has ocarina, majora's mask, zelda I and zelda II on it.
master quest even has the gamecube GUI on it.
but the rom of master quest works with project 64, even though it still has the gamecube GUI on it.

i keep forgetting this is a european based forum.
so yeah it is unreleased for you guys.

europeans get ripped off when it comes to releases. either it takes japan a good year or two to release games or they don't release them at all.

we got the gamecube version of it, but the N64 version I think never left japan.

i wasn't even aware that there was an n64 version of master quest.
usually when people mention master quest, it is the gamecube one though.

the gamecube one that someone ripped and made it compatible with n64 emulators.
