How do you put N64 games on your DS? I have put some on, and my DS will recognize them, but it just wont load the game.

P.S. Im using an M3 Simply

I think you need to run an emulator on the DS

Is it even possible to run an N64 game on a DS?

    It doesn't seem very likely.

good point, I know the DS can run SNES games...

I don't think running it would be so much the problem, as it would be the speed, since most emulators tend to need to run on something more powerful than the system it's emulating for decent speeds.

Then again, I don't have a DS, or a flashcard for that matter, so it's just a theory.

that is correct in most cases. the emulating system usually needs to be considerably more powerful than the system being emulated (unless its built on/contains the same hardware)

Well the PSP can emulate playstation games because it's far more powerful, maybe the DS is more powerful than the N64? It's worth looking into.

Its possible. Some of the exceptions to the rule Asmadi mentioned are the PS3, which contains PS2 hardware in addition to PS3 hardware, and the SNES, which had a flag that set the CPU to emulate the NES CPU; This feature was never used, though. There may be others.

EDIT: further research has indicated that it is theoretically possible to replace a NES CPU with a SNES CPU and get a working, overclocked NES :)

Well, they ported Mario 64 to the DS, why not any other n64 games? Sadly, my flash cart doesn't even recognize then.
And the DS ruined Star Fox!

There are no N64 emulators on the DS... and I don't think there will be any.

zhou, please use full English words, that means writing 'you' instead of 'u' and 'why' instead of 'y'. It helps our members who are less confident with the English language
