I'm new to downloading ROMs so followed notes in the forums and everything looked fine until I switched on my DS and all I've got is two black screens with the word "LOADING..." on the top screen - it just stays like this.

Any ideas what I've done wrong???

Thanks for any help you can give me. :)

Try backing up (if needed), format, and then install the latest firmware from http://www.linfoxdomain.com/ds/.

The problem might be that you are using the wrong microsd card. Do not use Kingston 2gb! I did and the same thing happened to me. Since then I have used only Sandisk 2gb and they work perfect. I have since bought 10 N5's with Sandisks and they all work great. Hope it helps.

N5's are dangerous and you risk your DS by using them. they are well known to brick DSes

Kingston are one of the best microSD card brands out there.

I have found out that this is common and the fix simple I have verified this to be true

you can not just send the whole folder at once to the sd card

you must send one at a time

    C & P from fixya.c*m

format MicroSD to Fat or Fat32 (leave quick format unchecked)
Copy firmware onto MSD in this order ONE BY ONE !!!!!!
    This step is very important!!!!
    1. DS_MENU.DAT
    2. _AXMENU.DAT
    3. _DS_MSHL.DNS
    4. _SYSTEM_ folder
    5. moonshl folder
Then load your .nds files all at once onto sd card.
I've had absolutely no problems with this card so far and if
    installed correctly it works brilliantly!!!

i have 5 n5 cards all with sandisk 2gb cards and have never had a bricked ds yet, older versions used a spring loaded card holder that can be a bit fussy when loading. the newer version does not all in all a great cart if firmware loaded in correct order.
arm7 patch and firmware updates have cured rom problems on my carts.
